Is there some trick to changing the serp belt on a sunfire other than a big screwdriver to push the tensioner down?
loosen the tensioner?
Is there a bolt on the tensioner? if so use a breaker bar to push the tensioner down. Not sure just trying to help…

they actually make a long thin wrench like thing to make it easier.
Its a PITA the 1st time you try one.

i did mine with 2 open end wrenches (end to end) and it sucked

i have a belt tensioner tool set best 40 bucks i ever spent
def buy the tensioner tool’s … Doing it without is a PAIN…
I’d not recomend loosening the nut or attempting to take it off… it may create pain as the spring unloads, and you probably wont be able to get it back on… THere’s a bunch of tension on these things… it takes a good amount of muscle to move them.
