Suspension Choice

get kei office…

im not sure who you spoke to that said Stance was similar to D2 or Megan, but i would advise you not to speak with them ever again for advice.

they were either lying to you or they really dont know what they are talking about or have never held Stance coilovers in their hands before meaning you are back to them not knowing what they are talking about.

aside from the mounting points there is nothing similar about them at all.
Stance are worlds ahead of D2… i would get the megans over the D2’s for sure but i would not consider the Megans compared to Stance.

if you are a casual user the megans might suit your application, Stance coilovers i would say are for slightly more aggressive applications.

the fact that you get 2 sets of springs and that Stance is based out of Chicago are both key selling points

Walter got his Stance coilovers lightly used but near-new condition for a little more than i charge to get them brand new with warranty from Stance…

when i first looked into full coils i was like im gonna buy Stance and that was it then everyone just keeps telling me diff things…grrr i know every suspension will have its goods and bads and some are sayin go megan as it has been around for awhile and is tested VIA Time it has been on the market where as Stance is new to the market…

Hype, the people bigging them are the ones selling them. Where was stance 5 years ago? Where was megan?

They’re also the same people that hyped up D2s.

I highly recommend stance. I don’t sell them ed. Bing sells them for 1550CAD IIRC, however if you order them yourself ur looking at spending 1800CAD. These coils are in the same price range as coilovers like silk-road. They are by no means on the cheap side of the spectrum.

Bing may sell copyed shit that people don’t like to much and cut him up because of it. However, this product that he carries is proven by me. I doubt anyone else has done as much driving on them as I have anywhere in these parts.

I’ve tracked them 8 times this year and drove them over every pot-hole on the way to work all summer. Damping is very crisp and I’ve not yet needed to run full damping even on the track. I might have to when I switch over to the 9/7k springs next season.

The coils are also very beefy. Beefy=strong.
If you guys want well priced suspension, these are it.

Andrew.

What size/rated tires are you lapping on??

I’ve ran Falkens on my 16’s. 225/50R16

And

Kumho V710’s in 205/50R15. I was able to turn up the dampers more on the 710’s.

Andrew.

I got cusco comp-1 and they’re a bit bumpy but enables the car to handle really well. I do have a question about the coilovers. Why does the front have an extra set of perches? is it for tightening purposes?
Cause I tightened mine up (screwed all the way against the lower spring perch) and due to the bumpy surfaces, it unscrewed itself loose and rattles everytime I hit a bump.

what are the comparisons for Stance with Silk-Road and KTS?

i know the KTS is an inverted monotube. and ive heard nothing but good things from them.

this would be for track use of course.

Ed’s jocks my RUCA’s on his car, he’s just bustin my balls cause he’s bored.

i could sell you megans and D2’s if i wanted to, but i dont.

Get Stance. I’ve deal a lot with Megan and played with D2 and Stance a little. Of the three, stance are by far the greatest when it comes to build quality, exterior at least. I’ve never seen the dampers on any of these properly tested/charted. I’ve heard nothing of either Stance or Megan dampers failing so I’m forced to put the internals on an “equal” level of quality based on the fact I know nothing about either but have never heard of problems from either.

Taken all of this in to consideration and taking the fact that bing can get these in your hands for stupidly low prices while he takes care of the hassle of importing and whatnot beforehand… Stance is the obvious choice for you in my eyes.

LOL thats funny but ya Its Stance…

If your car is gonna be a street car I recommend you stay away from coilovers period. I will be running an Ohlins/Swift Springs combo next year. You could get a cheap decent set-up in KYB AGX mated to any good spring.
If you must have coilovers and still want a good street ride… my picks would be TEIN SS or Japanese market TEIN HA’s.

I agree with PhantomsliderX on this. If you are daily driving your car, especially in Toronto, springs/shocks is the way to go. Coilovers are of course better, but only on a track where you are actually going to use them the way they were meant to be used.

btw, does anyone have any experience with Whiteline coilovers? I only heard good things about them, but they were reviewed by people who mostly owned subarus. Anyone have these on a S13/S14?

whiteline coilovers are very very expensive, well over $2k arent they?

yeah they are bing…
but I’m wondering about the quality of those and how happy people are with them on the S13/S14’s…
