What CoilOver Setup would be the best for someone looking for street use but also be able to hit the track/strip every so often…
It would be more street then anything i was look at the
JIC FLT-A2 but i was thinking maybe i will be spending money for no reason…where i might not need something so crazy if u wanna say but they are so sexy lol
Stance or Megan (One of the vendors is selling F2s which I believe are identical to Megan)
JIC is good, but way overpriced and quality is hit or miss, if it’s a hit, they are excellent, if it’s a miss, you threw 2 grand down the drain. Best way to go is to get an US made product, better rebuild service and easily reachable if you have questions. Look for 8/6 spring rate if you want a streetable ride.
I am running Tein HRs I like them abit better then the basic dampener but not to crazy.I was in the same boat as you thats why I didnt buy a retarded suspension I mean if you not racing the car all tghe time you dont really need to buy a wild suspension.
i dont ever think i would buy anything made by Megan
Stance there is a lot of good talk about them but i have also heard things like they are the same as D2/Ksport/Megan something like that so i kinda moved away
JIC is awesome product but i kinda dont see me spending that cash for something i will never use to its fullest [even thou i was going to buy them]
Tein i hear good and bad things about
my Ride will be a lot more street then anything but i would also like the suspension to be able to handle a day at the strip/track without falling on its face…
Stance coilovers are not anywhere like D2’s or the others.
Hold the D2’s in your hands and then the stances. The pistons on the stances are huge compared to the d2’s, they are inverted monotube construction. This list goes on.
I’ve beat the shit out of mine all summer on the track, they still feel like the day I put them on.
hmmm i was looking at stance before when Bings first got them…but i really dont know they seem to be like good coils but ppl have posted that they have the same parts or whatever as many of the other cheaper coils…
lol "drift coils’! the stance coilovers are pretty good. I’ve been in an s14 that has it. The ride is amazing and it feels damn good. On soft settings and on hard settings.
lol well i had no other way of putting i didnt want coils made for difting…as it seems thats what most people are into now…I should also mention that i do have a 95 240sx
Stance are rediculously better than d2’s. The damper is double the thickness of the d2 damper and they are inverted mono tube. Canadiandrifter240sx has them and his car rides awesome, even when he hits potholes and everything its not crazy stiff. Amazing coils if i had the money i would absolutely buy them.
You are contradicting yourself… you want a good product, but don’t want to spend 2G’s, well you are not going to get anything top of the line for less than 2.
I have the Megans and I track the car every chance I get along with a ton of street driving and they are perfect for the price. I don’t know why you wouldn’t go with them, not one single person here has problems with them. They are a nice comprimise between track and street.
If you want good coils for cheap then you will be buying used japanese coils, but there are many people here that will tell you not to do that, as you have no idea of the history. People drive the poop out of their cars in japan… you watch those drifting vids where the cars hit the wall and climb up burms? carefull you don’t get those ones. heh…
no i didnt say i dont wanna spend 2G i will but i just cant see why if i will never use that coil[JIC FLT-A2] how it was ment to be used…u know what i mean…but everyone has been saying megan so i dunno im kinda thinking about getting them. i would like to ride in a car with megans so i know how it feels on the street even thou it might not be the same as in my car but still…if anyone is willing pm me i can meet u
you won’t be able to tell the difference if these are your first coils. if u got megan or JICs or Veal Function…you won’t tell the differnce since its a totally different feeling all together. get megans…then once u get used to the feeling that you can actually tell the difference between coilovers.
this being said,by assuming u’ve never driven a car with coils
