Tachometer question

the other day Jared was helping me work on my power steering pump and while we were talking i mentioned that my tach is not reading properly,Jared told me that the reason it might be off i cuz its reading for a 4 cylinder engine,or at least thats what my brain told me Jared was saying :roll: (correct me if im wrong Jared).so what i wanna know is if that is an accurate statement,is it safe for me to say that when my tach reads
1000rpm=1500rpm
2000rpm=3000rpm
3000rpm=4500rpm
4000rpm=6000rpm
also if this is at least kinda accurate could the guys with Skyline GTS-t’s tell me where ure redline sits?
thx in advance

not exactly, but I understand your x 1.5 reasoning. an adapter should be able to convert the signal. it may be cheaper to buy an r32 or r33 tach.

There area are couple written off skylines now and you can take the tach out of there and install it into your cluster. Ebay works good as well.
