Talking Shit about Goldman Sachs in the Senate

So Sen. Carl Levin completely owned the Goldman Sachs guys today in the Senate about some internal e-mails saying what a “shitty deal” something they sold their customers was. I LOL’ed. Dude wouldn’t even give him an answer.

Been watching this all day. Levin and McCaskill had their moments, but I wouldn’t call it a total win. Ted Kaufman seems to know his shit.

McCain just got done embarrassing himself in front of Blankfein. It was so sad…

Both sides have their sound bites. The reality is that the GS folks are far better educated and prepared to be in that position. Shading dealings or not.

There was some straight up bullshit going on for sure, but nothing will change. Too much money to be made off of fucking customers.

Meh shit changed for about 50 years after the great depression, then we tried deregulating the savings and loan industry in the 80’s and that worked out so that well we applied it to the whole finance industry in 99.

Bringing back Glass Steagal principles is one of the main reasons I wanted a dem in office. I hope finance regulation goes better than healthcare. Hopefully it will at least be constitutional. :lolno: (I’m still waiting for the supreme court to check and balance that whole “taxing people for NOT doing something” thing.)
