from a 2nd gear roll-on it lights the tires right up. tq hit is just plain brutal. about as fast as my mk2 tdi swap, if not faster!!!

Im gonna say probably not. A good running GTP traps high 90s low 14s.
GTP torque > mildly tuned TDI torque.
