Coming home from my cousins last night i heard something go “thunk” so i’m like yea w/e this car always makes noises and though nothing of it…went to shift from 2nd to 3rd and all i heard was grinding that sounded so bad, the stick went way way back out of it’s normal shift area and bounced as if the rear motor mount or tranny support rod has came a loose, didn’t get up under it last night or today yet(just got off work). I’m thinking it was either of the two giving out but i want to say the support rod seeing that my motor didn’t fall to the ground when this happened. Car seems to be stuck in 3rd with the tranny hanging by whatever. Any ideas on wtf it could be?
Sounds like either the right motor mount (near firewall) or the rubber isolator under the shifter on the shifting rod.
both of which are like a few inches away from each other if i remember correctly, i’m glad someone chimed in, i don’t have much time to fix it now though since i’m back to work
