Tell me about the Audi 90 Quattro

Considering one for winter and am curious to know about its reliablity and
what kind of things I can expect to have break down due to unreliablity.

Greg?

Year: 1993
Engine: 2.8L V6 Quattro AWD
Mileage: 122KM
Transmission: 5-spd
HP/TQ: 172 hp @ 5500 rpm , 184 ft-lbs. @ 3000 rpm

thats actually an excellent car for winters

id highly suggest checking ball joints tie rod ends etc before getting into it as they are rather expencive and a pain in the ass to change.

other than that… the motor is strong… a slug… but strong…

because its the newer one too you dont have to worry about any fuel injection problems…

ive had 2 of them and they are great…

i also had my a6 that had the same motor…

if that is in fact the correct km numbers too youll have a real nice car… the body is galvanized so its ubar rare to see rust as well.

let me know if you need any more info or parts or anything

GT

I’ve worked on newer audis, power steering, suspension, stuff like that

all I can say is everything is expensive, and most of the fluids are vw only parts… besides the older (think prior to that one) fuel injection system that was pretty innovative but weird… there’s not much really special in the way of maintenance

you can find and swap audi/vw parts on and off like with most nissans so parts upgrades are fairly commonly available, just hope it doesn’t have electrical gremlins, I see that as the only real deterrant

everything you need to know

Thats wher I looked Doba.

I expect this car to last 2-3yrs with me as primary driver. It willl be
driven by my sis now and then as she needs a car.

She is a new driver and doesnt know how to drive stick so obviously not
risking her driving something that’s going to be such a money pit. And
she won’t be driving it alone until she’s good enough to drive stick.

I just love the styling and look of this car and the power ain’t half bad.
Too bad for other stuff :frowning:

cant go wrong with an awd audi as a daily driver. they are known as safe cars, but ive heard stories of older models such as these to have breakdowns, but then what older vehicle doesnt need maintanence.

I think its a good buy. it will last her more than 2-3 years no problem, its a lot better to get one of these than what everyone else these days gets, new POS such as sunbirds, cavaliers, etc.

I’ve had my hand full this year with problems and $ troubles, so it’d be a good not to keep the streak alive

dude, when ure buying a daily driver just get a dam honda…

True.dat

Wouldn’t mind that either, just not trying to limit myself.

if you want AWD, why not look into an older Subaru? Impreza, Legacy, etc…
They are pretty good in overall quality and reliability…
