Tell me why I shouldn't buy a Lexus RX400h / 450h

Don’t tell me about how soul sucking to drive it is, I need a smallish SUV that gets good gas mileage that I can go in the HOV lane in here in CA.

Seems like a better option than the other stuff the wifey wants : Q5 3.0T, ML450.

I like XC90s also, but fuck, the new ones are so hot and makes the older ones look super dated and I don’t feel like dropping that kinda cash.

She’ll be driving it for the most part, so I wanted something more reliable.

Looked into Escalade Hybrids but meh.

Any input from you guys?

Is an XC60 too small for you?

I dailied a RX400H for a winter a couple years ago. Good gas mileage and peppy off the line with the instant torque.
Owning one outside of warranty would be my only fear. Batteries start to wear out and the CVT transmission to me was an unknown.

My wife might be getting one of these…she loves them…

I thought they weren’t allowing any additional hybrid or plugin hybrids in HOV lanes, only zero emissions vehicles.

Looks like you’re right.

Volvo’s killin it:

avoid ANYTHING with a CVT. Even Battery packs on hybrids seem to have a better record then CVT transmissions

Picked up a 2016 X3 in December. Loving it so far.

the new xc90 looks so good and it is priced so well. Can’t wait for the v90, I have not liked volvos in years, they are looking so good now. The Chinese ownership is doing way better than Ford.

The new V90 is sexy as hell. We probably won’t see it here until 2018. I test drove a 16 XC90 Inscription this afternoon. In June I will be ordering a 17 XC90 Inscription to hopefully take delivery of by this October. What a great vehicle. Everything is simple and clean, the most comfortable seats I’ve ever sat in. The 16 I drove will drive itself up to 30mph (if there are lane markings and a lead vehicle), absolutely amazing. The 17’s will allow this function up to 81mph without the need for a lead vehicle. I’m sold.

Most sold around here that are used come with stickers! The Green ones have been extended to 2019.

EDIT: Triple post deleted. Boooooo

Buy a G-Wagen.

That said, if you can’t buy a G-Wagen for practical or fiscal purposes, I have no feedback other than the new XC90 looks great.

I second the g wagon!
