When Nissan offered to let us drive the new GT-R last month Drift Ops was all over that thanks to our good friends at Autojournal. Considering the car was not open to the press yet and was offered only for special clients we felt honored. According to the Nissan rep Wayne was the 4th and I was the 6th person in Canada to ever drive the vehicle at that time.
First thing you notice about the GT-R is its aggressive stance and size. Just biatch is big! How will it handle? With well over 480hp on tap this beast is unreal…no bogging just ramped up acceleration when shifting gears on the paddles. Rev matching is seamless and the amount of power on tap is quite impressive.
Cruising on the highway at 130, drop a gear and open the throttle to 20% and you’ll be doing an impressive flyby and hitting 160 instantly. This thing has so much power on command with little to no lag.
Pro or con…it does feel like a japanese car. Super precise handling, very good driver feedback and feels like you’re driving in a video game. With the command center LCD at your finger tips you can customize the displays to show you pretty much anything u want. It also data logs for future reference.
Transmission, suspension and AWD settings are at your finger tips. Its not just a gimmick, they actually work! Set the suspension to “R” setting and feel your spine compress with every crack in the road!
K enough talking, heres the pics…wayner add urs too I havent seen them yet
I spent some time with her too thanks to Nissan USA burning it around the mountains of Lake Tahoe and at the Reno Fenway Racetrack. There were 6 GT-Rs there but I really had a soft spot for this one in KH2 Gunmetal. I swear she responded better to my commands with more torque and sharper steering.

You know I was headed home from Georgian College 2 maybe 3 weeks ago and I saw a new skyline headed north on the 400. I wonder if this was the same day.
And I wish I knew about this then, I would have came out and snaped some pics.
