I suspect our apartment has some serious hidden mold. The girlfriend and I have both been dealing with pretty bad sinus issues for a few months. I was assuming it was the weather. I do see a few mold spots above the shower I’m going to clean, and just found some black colored mold in the corner of the vanity. Is there a way to test and see what kinda mold is hidden and how bad it is?
They sell self test kits at Home Depot but I’m not sure how accurate they are. The NYS department of labor has some information on their website like where to find contractors, what to do, etc. I thought that the state also provided free testing but I can’t find that at the moment.
Read through the FAQs in the website above and see if you can’t alleviate the issue with some simple cleaning first. It usually takes a lot of mold and poor circulation to cause a real problem, though.
