TESTING WATERS: 300ZX NA --> TT swapped.

(Copy-Pasted from my ad on 300zxclub.com)

I honestly have no idea what i should be asking for this, if anything all I hope to gain from this thread what your opinions are regarding a fair price, since I’m also not even 100% sure I want to sell it. If I can get a good amount for it…who knows, we’ll see. The more I think about this, the less I want to do it…so I’m just going to close my eyes, click “submit new thread,” and see what happens.

It’s a 1990 red T-Top coupe, swapped to TT. I threw a rod a couple years ago, shattered the block, and haven’t had time since to rebuild it (as much as I’d love to).

Currently no motor in the car. I still have the old motor, on a stand, and the heads should still be good on it.

Aftermarket parts list:

-Z1 side mount intercoolers (new, never installed).

-AMZ light 1 piece aluminum driveshaft (new, never installed).

-Urethane motor mounts (new, never installed)

-Used Nismo 550cc Injectors (bought used, never installed).

-AshSpec mail in tune for stock injectors/intercoolers.

-UR Underdrive Pully.

-RPS segmented lightweight flywheel.

-RPS street disc clutch.

-2.5" stainless downpipes/testpipes with HKS Hiper Catback exhaust.

-JWT single pop intake.

-Chrome intake hard pipe kit with silicone couplers.

-RFL blowoff valves.

-Apexi turbo timer.

-Genuine J-Spec front fascia (never installed, unpainted, unprimed, brand new) with smoked corners.

-HID’s.

-Custom short throw shifter done by a local speed shop (Lee at Hybrid).

-Genuine J-Spec clear tails.

-Dual A-Pillar gauge mount with Autometer Boost and Oil Pressure guages.

-Custom manual boost controller.

Tires are practically brand new Hankook Ventus R-S3, 255’s in the rear, 225’s in the front. Maybe 200 miles on them at most, with no track time or heaters whatsoever.

The car is red, paint isn’t perfect but it’s not terrible. No rust (Florida car originally).

The red t-tops had some paint starting to chip/crack, and the interior trim was hanging a bit at the lever used to release the t-tops…so i have a second set of t-tops with mint interior trim off of a friend’s black 300zx that he totaled.

Same with the rear hatch, the car came with what i think is the Stillen Type III wing moulded right to the hatch, but the moulding started to crack…and i was never fond of the wing itself, so i bought the black hatch off my friend’s Z as well. The buyer can have both if desired, since i obviously have no use for them.

From sitting in storage so long the interior may need a good wash. All interior carpeting (floormats, trunk ledge, and trunk itself) is new. New shifter and shifter boot as well since both weren’t perfect when i bought the car.

New Infinity speakers all around. No head unit though.

Mileage I’m honestly not 100% of since the car is in storage and I rarely see it. If I had to guess I’d say somewhere around 100K on the body.

I had purchased a used motor for it that had good heads but was suspected to have a slight knock. Got it for $450 with the intention of doing all new main and rod bearings, and Weisco pistons…but never even had time to make arrangements to pick the motor up from the shop where it was being stored, so i wouldn’t be surprised if it was disposed of already on me, which would be my own fault anyway for letting it go so long. I’ll try to get a hold of them to see if they still have it for me, but I’m not counting on it.

I think that’s about it…if I think of anything else, I’ll be sure to constantly edit this thread. I’ll have time for a Z again some day, but I need to grow up a bit first, pay off student loans, maybe look into a house, etc…things that should take priority over expensive toys.

Car is currently in Newfane, viewing can be arranged.

Part out?

Sounds like a good project. I’d love to be able to make you an offer. Glws

Josh, i’ll likely end up parting it out since i’ll make way more that way, and i’m not in a terribly huge hurry to get rid of it for financial purposes or anything like that…just sick of letting it sit there while someone else can make much better use of it than i will be able to.

And boardjunky…make an offer, you might be surprised what i’d take.

Interesting, I’ve always secretly loved z32s pm me a ballpark price.

PM’d…

Also want to add that i have a 1500 page (give or take) complete manual for this car, divided into sections, in 5 big binders. Bought it on cd off ebay years ago, and while in college abused the shit out of the free paper in the library, printing up 50 to 100 pages at a time until i had the entire thing. Comes in handy quite a bit.

Good luck on the sale. Hope you decide to buy another, no biased opinion.

Thanks, and i definitely will later on in life…i absolutely love these cars, there’s no doubt about that. Just have bigger things going on in life, and somebody else would appreciate this car way more than i currently can allow myself to.

This car was awesome when it ran! Great project for someone aroundhere…

Interested could you pm me the price you had in mine

BUMP for winter project time…

…and to let you all know I’m still alive and well, trolling forums like a boss.

Make him an offer…

Andy, you ever get the motor?

is this still for sale?

I’m willing to bet yes…

Yes. Open for realistic offers.
