I used to live off of playing poker online. 8 to 12 tabling on Poker Stars and Party Poker before the U.S. ban against Neteller/Firepay/etc. Playing anything from 2/4, 3/6, & 5/10 FL to $300 NL.
I just started playing again but so far I stick to just live games, as there are a lot of Indian casinos within 15-20 minutes out here in San Diego and the games are very soft. I’m still deciding if I want to get back into it hardcore again, I make good money now working and my family really hates it.

The rake is pre-determined for whatever stake you are playing, most of the lower limit games are maxed at $1/hand and anything that has a BB of $10+ is capped at $5/hand. So your “rake theory” is completely wrong. There are also websites you can sign up for with rakeback programs where you get a % of the rake back. Usually anywhere from 25% to 35%.

Online there are a lot more hands that are played because there is no physical dealer or maintenance. Thus since more hands are played, more outcomes can occur.
It’s such a rookie mistake to think that online poker websites are rigged. If you honestly think they are, the reason you aren’t profiting is because your play is bad.
