the Actual Work-Out thread

you lost 3.5% body fat in 3 weeks?

Yea, i was a lil under 16 now im 12.5

working out, changing my diet from a breakfast sandwich to egg whites in the morning, only drinking water, low carbs low fat

i dont know what my weight is now though

I ended up leaving planet fitness… at golds now. What a difference.

does anyone here go to BTC by the eastern hills mall? if so how is it? I want to check it out because it’s only 15 mins away.

It’s great, I went all the time (2, sometimes 3 classes a day) before december when I ran out of free cash.

As far as all-encompassing MMA gyms in the area it’s one of the very best.

PM if you have any specific questions. I should be going back there by the end of this month.

sweet. I want to start going soon. I just gotta learn what to do routine wise and whatnot. I wanna get beast before landscaping starts again. That way it doesnt kick the living shit out of me for the first 6 weeks like usual lol. By late summer I am a fucking machine. But in spring im more like a wind up toy lol.

I go there as well. I mostly go to the striking and gi jiu jitsu classes. Its a lot of fun. EVery friday they have conditioning too and that will kick your ass as well. Any way, doin back this morning, superseted my arms yesterday though and they are pretty sore. Not sure if ill be able to go 100% today.

Got my new belt from elite fts

I read some where it can be bad using a belt all the time because it limits certain muscles. Although if i ever start squatting i’ll use a belt, for the deadlift i have been fine using no belt or straps, most i have done was 225lbs x10 last week i did it only 8 reps because i stopped doing them for a little and decided to take it easy.

The main thing i have trouble with is cooking and eating enough to get bigger. I dont want to cook and i have to eat every 3 hours and my body knows i dont need the food so i don’t ever feel hungry.

Carb up weekends are fucking kicking my ass.
I think im just going to stop them all together

Wahoo stop bein a bitch!

You should NEVER wear a belt throughout your entire workout. Use it when you need to and thats it. Leave it at home on arm days, shoulder days, etc…You don’t need it for warmup sets either. It does limit your muscle involvement.

If you start eating every 3 hours your body will adapt and you will start to get hungry at those times. Protein shakes, string cheese, beef jerky are all quick little snacks. If you are smooth (ie: not cut) stay away from string cheese, because it has a lot of fat. Go hardboil a dozen eggs and eat 3 a day spread out here and there.

Yeah that’s why i dont use a belt.

I hope I start getting hungry , has been months… Still no hunger.

Once thing I noticed is my back is getting nice and thick and from a side profile
my arms don’t seem very big now lol, it seems very hard to get my arms to grow!

no lie, the weight swing is ridiculous. water retention is a bitch.

belts are great for lower back lifts. you dont want to use one all the time, but on big weight, its advisable.

Thats all i do or go home

Yea, i always wondered when i should incorporate a belt, I dont know, is 225lbs alot of weight to do 8 or more reps?

I feel like im stuck in the bulking stage for the rest of my life, im still not as big as i want to be, but my mid section is taking a toll slightly, i have abs i have to flex them to show them good… im also trying to do stomach vaccum excercises trying to suck in the lower abdominals. My stomach just naturally wants to make me look like a prego… lol

225 isnt big weight for me (not trying to sound like a douche) but its different for everyone. Whenever you are doing near your max weight, make sure to have a belt / spotter.

225 x8 reps doesnt seem like alot to me either, but im not a power lifter there is no point in a 1 rep max for me, i think i could probly do 250lbs+ for 1 rep max but its pointless to me so since im not going to do a 1 rep max for my deadlifts like ever you think i won’t need a belt?

big weight shouldn’t be a number, it should be your 1 or maybe 3 rep max and different for everybody. Saying you only do big weight is the most lame thing in this thread, I hope you were kidding.

I never use a belt, if I can’t keep my form good without it I take it as a sign that I need more core strength or better form.

taking into account the brohater the blue’s previous post, my “3 rep max” is 365 lbs… although that was at the peak of my bulking. prolly more like 335 now. did 315 5 times ~2 weeks ago or so.

my weakness at that point is grip, I need straps for anything 300+.

lol, that gives me a good roll call question: how much over your body weight is your current 1 rep max?

I’m currently able to do 53lbs over my weight.
