I agree with you, but I was trying to explain the how-to of the real world, working 40 hours a week.
He doesn’t mention anything about sneaking beers and gaining mass, because its not the perfect way, but it can be done. For me, I’m not afraid to have a pint of Yuengling or a couple mixed drinks or shots and bourbon bits on a Monday night when I know I’ve just kicked the shit out of abs and ran, destroyed my chest the previous day, and will be destroying my “bi’s’ and tri’s” the next day. I might skip a hostess treat that day though. If I ate chicken and brown rice all the time I would gun down a crowd.
I’ll also be honest with you, I also think I’ve gained more than 5 lbs of muscle in the year I’ve worked out.
I also disagree with the info he puts up on squats, my body tightened up and gained so much more initial strength in just the 2-3 weeks I’ve added squats AND leg press in and I’ve actually been eating less protein.
Ultimately find out what works best for you, just another option out there, everyone grows different my friend.: http://www.military.com/military-fitness-center/2011-fitness-guide/build-muscle-based-upon-your-body-type-part-1.html
I’d love to go into a customers Sub-Zero and use the $600 wolf range to cook up a meal 4 times a day, but I can’t so if it doesn’t fit in here: , it wont be part of my day.
All it is is stop making up fucking excuses and get your ass in the gym and kick the shit out of your body. I’m with Ed on this one. Last week for chest day I had 3 hours of sleep and got up and went right to the gym. I finally put up 135 for 8 and ended up doing 155 for a few reps as well that same day. So in a week’s time I’ve technically added 50 lbs just for chest on bench. I’m not a fucking expert by any means and I don’t take any supplements other than pre made muscle milks because when I can’t afford a meal or have the time to make one it’s a $4 meal in a bottle. Keep motivated and stop making up excuses. You have to go and be motivated. I’ll let you know when I put up over 200 next week for bench and I’m not a big guy by any means at all or trying to say that it’s a lot of weight, I’m just saying you need to be motivated and just go. None of this “oh I know and post videos of someone on the Internet bullshit”. You know what would be awesome? Post videos of your ass in the gym beating your body up and showing you’re making an effort.
sounds like your just starting out. When i first started you have to get used to free weights and gains are quick at first. It will slow down quite a bit.
On that note i did 205 7x for my big set and my buddy had 235 on there afterward so i said fuck it and gave it a shot and actually put it up.Not bad for a kid who weighs 155-160lbs
Why am I being targeted? Im basically stating it takes time, you new people who just started working out are going to see what they call “noobie gains”, Eventually it slows down. I go to the gym, I work hard, and I like how I look, hell when I go to the gym in a wife beater even dudes look at me because Im practically the in the top 10 best in shape there. I have veins I can trace that go from the top of my traps down into my shoulder, into my chest and down to my biceps. I’ve been working out since I was 18, I am 24. Yeah I havent been the most consistent, but I know what I should be doing, I have probably 5 Books on Bodybuilding and Nutrition.
I don’t expect to get huge with my current plan and diet, I’m pretty comfortable looking how I do, so I guess since Im fairly happy in my current physical state I’m not as motivated as others. Everyone likes different things and have different goals, I’d like to look like Ryan Reynolds, I don’t need to weigh 190lbs.[COLOR=“Silver”]

Do you know what overtrainging is?
Call it what you want but I come in here and see your posts bitching about drinking or I can’t sleep or I eat shitty and yadda yadda yadda. So veins are a sign that you’re in good shape now and means you have a “top 10 body?” it’s not a fucking fashion show or contest man. Maybe if you spent as much time reading and following your 5 books as you did posting about things you’re doing wrong on here I bet you’d see a difference. So anyway when you realize that you don’t know everything and start taking advice from people who are even much more dedicated than even you or I that would be awesome. I know absolutely nothing about all this supplement and diet and whatever else. So you know what I do? I ask the guys that have been doing it for longer than probably most people on this forum and I follow their advice because I know I don’t know shit compared to what they know.
lol
geez, you guys are angry. remember kids, steroids are bad.
lol jk
I’m on my 5th week of bulking up. I know i’ve put on fat, but I am definitely getting a lot stronger, so I am letting it slide. When I am done with 8 weeks I’ll be back on CKD for at least 8 to shed the fat.
Eh I don’t know about that. People can do the wrong things for a long time and with a lot of dedication. I see dedicated guys in here suggesting things going to the gym on no sleep and eating bread and fluff when you’re worried about abdominal fat.
This is a good thread for banter, but if you need real advice for your own health and well being find someone with more qualifications than “I work out a lot.”
+1 to fry.
I also go to the gym and see super jacked guys lift weights with horrible form.
I have read the books from front to back, I go on here mainly at work. Other then that, congraduation on your awesome progress, and I hope it continues. I am not going to continue this debate tho.
This is why Jesse and I do it the easy way with roids, hgh rubs, and eating mcdonalds everyday ftw!
HGH!!
I think I am just going to give up and get muscle implants
Ken stop giving away all our secrets to success. Geez
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!
ah shit, im busted!
All BS and fun aside the main things that have helped me gain to this point are:
-Proper Rest (sleep and time between workouts)
-Quality of eating / Timing of eating (including supplements ie. protein both casein and whey, creatine, vitamins)
-Then last but not least quality/intensity of workouts to ensure i’m pushing myself beyond what i think i can do everytime i walk through the door
It seems oh so simple, but as you all know, it is very difficult to stay strict and keep your routine going consistently. Thankfully with good workout partners and my own passion to kick my ass, it has netted good results
chris is totally juicing, HE’S SO ANGRYYYY RAWRRRRRR
I’ll compare it to me owning my truck. Sure I own an LS2 and I may have 5 books about how the LS engine is assembled and how it operates but do I REALLY know anything about it? Not a chance in hell. I mean if someone has been going for 6 years and hasn’t put on any weight whatsoever how hard are you really pushing yourself? I lost like 15 lbs of fat weight and put it all back on in muscle in 2 months…Anyhow who cares. Do what you think works best for you.
