motion to ban shelby from all forums besides e-fighting.
I may joke around sometimes, but in all seriousness:
Some left that could, some stayed that couldn’t leave. The decisions they made (or were forced to make) were made and now we all have to just deal with it.
For us, it’s a little gouging at the pump.
For some, it’s a home (not a house, a HOME) gone forever.
And, for those that lost their life, we should bow our heads in silence and appreciate that we’re not dumb enough or forced (due to external circumstances) to live in a tidal basin.
wrong they have been telling them it was going to be the strongest storm to hit N.O. and make landfall over the city since 1950 somthing and to get the fuck out. Stupidity is not an excuse for what is going on down there, especailly the stupidity you seem to be defending.
Let me guess do you have family down there and thats why you are so defensive…
We have been getting phone calls at work about this. I recieved one phone call 16 hours prior to landfall from a lady that was so out of touch with reality it wasn’t even funny. I’m not going to get into it further, but my wife can confirm it on here if she reads it, how fucking stupid people really are.
ok… unfortunatly I got into this thread a little late… but I feel my opinion is as good as the next guy’s.
I do feel that the looters are wrong… and it’s out of control. I also see how it would be hard to stop them due to trying to recover the bodies floating in the water, the sick, the old, women, children, and the men who are caring for them.
I do not feel guns or force needs to be used at this time. There are far more important things to be thinking about. These people are stealing things, but like a few people said, you’d do the same thing too. I’d steal beer, if I lost everything I own, maybe a family member, a doggie, a car or two… I’d want to have a beer or two also. I wouldn’t expect to be shot for it… if anything, I’d share with neighbors.
Yes, they are material things, and they can be reaplced… but that will take months going though insurance… maybe longer…
Rebuilding homes, workplaces, etc. will take a very long time. At this point I think the police are doing a fine job of doing what they are paid for. They are helping people who need help… as quickly as they can.
Sorry my thoughts are scattered… I tryed to touch on the things I saw in the thread… 7 pages is hard to paraphrase… haha
Actually if he knew anything about disaster triage, he would know the dead are always passed up for the living.
How do I know this? No its not form watching movies, its because this is what I do and have done since I graduated…
ok
was there looting after the tsunami? i don’t think so, or at least not to this level… says something about the type of ppl that are down there… not sure what it says exactly :dunno:

what the hell was there to loot after the tsunami. I dont think they have too many flatscreens in Sri Lanka.
point is they weren’t acting like animals… and yeah resort hotels do have flatscreens smart ass
yeah, im sure they do… but when you live in a fucking shanty with no electricity, I dont think a flatscreen really posesses the same novelty as they do over here in the States.
I can’t take sittin here at work and listen to uneducated people act like everything is Bush’s fault. Bush is acting weak with the war situation but other stuff is out of his control. This country isn’t a one man show, when are people gonna realize that? The House and senate and the president are all factions in the running of this country. Bush is actually gonna do a good thing and put price caps on gas… back in 1981 my dad had to put a certified certificate in his window saying how much he payed for his gas and then they were only allowed to mark it up a certain amount and this was passed by president carter, nixon did the same in 74.
The man needs to take some decisive action in iraq, stop fucking around. but the gas and oil situation, should he have stopped the hurricane? thats not even the real issue, the real issue is prices were up because we don’t have the refining capacity in this country. Also how stupid is it for us to have such a huge bulk of our refining in one area of the country, blame all the tree huggin do gooders everytime you get rapped at the pump. THAT is the reason we don’t drill in texas, that is the reason we don’t drill in alaska, that is the reason we haven’t built a new refinery in this country in 30 years… Because in their distorted minds a fuckin owl, seal , deer or whatever the fuck has more rights than people. Survivial of the fitest, if they can’t fight us off from drillin on their precious alaskan land, FUCK EM.
everything is Bush’s fault. If Kerry were in office, there would have never been a hurricane, gas prices would be $.98/gallon, and healthcare would be free for everyone. Bush fucked everything up.
Here 2001r6,
now there is a sniper taking shots at peo0ple while evacuating Charity Hospital down there.
Yeah those people are just trying to get food
Fuck that place start pumping more water in…
i bet this gets to you cause you being someone that their job is to help people. Really, who tries to kill people trying to help them? simple answer… animals!!
This shit irritates the fuck out of me becuase it happend to me (us) personally when I working in the fucking ghetto of wilkinsburg.
Try to help people and they fucking shot, FUCK THEM!
For the most part the poeple that did not leave were just stupid/ignorant. I saw a number of interviews with people that stayed and are now out or on there way out that flat out said it themselves about themselves.
Anyways, people shouldn not have had any trouble getting out of that city, G-bodies are pretty roomy and I’m sure those guys roaming around with AK’s had a few sitting around :bigok:
