The best place to get frame rails repaired?

I’ve searched a couple times, and its yielded nothing too helpful. Obviously a fair amount of people are doing it, and so there must be some fairly compentant shops offering their services. I’m looking to get a bit of work done, and my friend needs some major work…and so I’m turning to you for suggestions.

Also, I’m looking for someone to swap a 5spd into my convertible. Recommendations on that are appreciated too!

Thanks,
Mark

Frame rails you can buy from nissan for like 70$ if im not mistaken, a shop would prolly charge just as much to repair your old one. As for the 5 swap. I did it with me and another 2 buddys.(Only one of us knew what we were doing) me and my other friend were just there for muscle help, so its not 2 hard. Just find out what harness part you have to reloop for the netruel safety switch.

That sounds decent.
As I understand though…the frame rails are out of production, and almost impossible to get new. Piss off. Perfect opportunity for nissan to make some money off of us…and they drop the ball!

However don’t get me wrong, they have the ball firmly in grasp the other 99.9% of the time.

Sasha(turbo) at Sequence Garage did my 5spd swap not too long ago and he did an amazing job!!

I had my framerails repaired not too long ago at a shop in brampton. they did a VERY good job. if I had pics available, I’d post them. (maybe later when i’m at home)

First Choice Auto Collision
5 Research Rd (west side of Kennedy, look for the big Aamco sign)
Brampton, ON
ask for Bobby
905 451 5843 -shop tel.
416 545 9990 -Bobby’s Cell

If you can’t guess, Bobby does the framework.

Tell him Chris with the Maroon 240 and Matt(me) with the Dark Blue 240 sent you and recommended him.

Yaa my post on this did not really go anywhere. One thing I have found is that its probably not going to a a cheep repair.

ppl on son do it and they know what there doing just ask around everyone knows a sonling welder…

sorry to start this post up again
but I called Bobby from First Choice Auto Collision and he said that they “box” the rail using “high strength steal”
Now what I am wondering is, I thought boxing the rails would just cover the rust; and the rails would still rust underneath the new boxed metal. Is boxing the rails just a band aid solution?

yes boxing would be a temp solution, need to cut out rusty metal and weld new in.

hummm
$300 per rail for a temp fix…no thanks

I had mine cut our and redone and it was like 1200$ for both and a few other small tidbits. But it seems like a good job.
