WTB 89 240sx Shell that has very nice frame for round 500

Ya i got enzos_lil_schumi’s 240sx and the frame has massive rot and i need a shell to transfer everything over on…i just need a frame that will pass safety for around 500 or more and hopefully the engine mounts cuz this car is missing that too. I would jump on a 240 taht has a blown headgasket or something where i can just do an engine swap

the rot cant be that bad, u could probably get it patched up for 500 bucks and have a nice 240

my auto teacher said its beyond repair and another shop said they r not gonna do a quick fix on it cuz the dont wanna risk their licsence on it

No 240 is beyond repair, Just ask Sockington.

like im still a high school student and have no money lol
i just need a beater for a while till i become a mechanic and buy s nicer car and work on that or i was planning on working on this 240 but the frame is like paper thin and i can stick a closed fist in it lol…damn i got mad ripped off

did you buy the black one he had for sale?

yes…mad nice body…but the frame is as strong as TP

I wanted to buy it for a winter beater…good thing i dident lol

GAHHH ur pissin me off LOL
need a body soon…or this old girl is goin to the junkyard :’(

ugh rolls eyes send me pics and i’ll tell you if its fixable or not…

well all cars r fixable but…i dont have 5grand…maybe more to fix it just for a beater when i can just take out the engine and put it in a better body using my schools shop or my friends shop

well if its just the frame rails that are bad, then it shouldnt cost you 5g’s to fix it

im getting both my frame rails done and a hole behind the passenger seat for 700 flat.

//\ roughly what i would charge

new frame rails are like 60 bucks from nissan…then u just need them put on

Really??? Might you or anyone else know the part numbers???

I’ve already fabricated 1 rail and replaced it on my 92, but I’ve started to work on a set for the 89 coupe. It would be much easier to simply buy them and put them on! It’s really not a hard weld / install if you have the right tools.

The PASS Side isn’t available accordign to every Montreal area Nissan Dealer I called… If you find a dealer in Ontario that has a few PLEASE let me know

Thanks!

really the nissan dealership here in barrie wanted like 80 per side… and as for putting them in, well… even with the right tools, it isn’t exactly easy to do it properly, if you want it to pass safety… but then again things are a little different here in barrie, i think they’re more strict on the safety… for example… one of my cars failed because the car didn’t come with a rear hatchw wiper, and because the front windsheild wiper squirters werent spraying far enough

It really depends on your skill and familiarity with unibody fabrication / restoration. I’ve done this several times from my 77 280, to lincoln towncars, and the proper tools make the job easy enough.

I’ve certified six vehicles in Barrie and never had any problems whatsoever. Perhaps it depends on which mechanic your choosing to use? As for them failing your vehicle because it was NOT originally equipped with a rear wiper, they cannot do so. You could negotiate that with them quite easily.

The wiper sprayers are a requirement for proper vision and thus MUST spray to cover a reasonable area of the windshield in order to help clear the wippers claer debris or dirt from the windshield.
