fuck barry bonds and his record
scumbag
[quote=“nappy1380,post:18,topic:33485"”]
There isn’t a chance in hell a baseball player can put on 30 lbs of muscle in 1 year. They have practically no time during the season to even touch a gym, and even if they did most ball clubs wouldn’t condone it. In the off season most players play in southern/western leagues. Latin players go back home and play in their own leagues.
 A-Rod will pass Bonds but Conseco says his new book has dirt on A-Rod as well.
They were testing for steroids before 2004 but not HGH.

conseco should worry about catching a fly ball and not letting it hit off his fat head, than gathering info on other players.

i really don’t think you know what you are talking about
Additionally, a few mph on a fastball can make the difference between being a multi million dollar closer and pitching in AAA. Look at all the best closers in the bigs, almost all of them are burners with an extreme fast ball… the difference between 94mph and 98mph is huge… and someone throwing a 100+ mph heater is in a league of his own
BUT
STEROIDS ARENT USED FOR JUST BULK AND STRENGTH :bloated:

*fixed
The caps make you look like even less intelligent then you did before lol.
I understand that steroids help recovery, but the risk that comes with them is not worth it. A pitcher can achieve the same results with the right coaches and trainers and not risk losing the important aspects I listed above.

^^^^ some people just dont understand and dont want to believe the truth.

When did I say that the majority of the league wasn’t using or cheating? I’ve read most of the books about the current run of steroids and baseball and follow it closely.

I didn’t know he was still playing pro ball:confused:
Babe Ruth was drunk half the time. He probably would have hit 1k+ if he had been on uppers instead of a depressant.

I said: “STEROIDS AREN’T JUST USED FOR BULK AND STRENGTH :bloated:”
This means that while some players may benefit from increased strength/power, others will benefit from the recovery aspects of steroids and other performance enhancers. I had previously explained this, but it’s apparent you were too caught up in your own opinions to understand what I had said
edit: Additionally, just in case you were uncertain, there are various enhancers for various results. An individual interested in recovery need not also gain strength or size, if he didn’t want to.

He’s playing AA ball. I know that. But books sales > AA salary. It doesn’t matter that he is terrible since he’s not trying to move up.

But we are talking about… steroids. Not other enhancers. My argument is based solely on roids, while you put other supplements into the mix.

Ok.
Well, for all the books you have apparently read, you really don’t know a lot about the subject at hand do you? I was lumping many things into the group “performance enhancers” however, admittedly, perhaps that was just a mistake. Instead, I encourage you to research the various types of “roids” that are on the market. I don’t have the time or resources while I’m at work, however you should know that ALL STEROIDS DO NOT CAUSE BULK AND STRENGTH. Instead many improve recovery, muscular endurance, metabolism/cannibalism and even flexibility.
Users of steroids that effect strength and size frequently are targeted because they are the most apparent to the public/media, but to make an assumption that “well he doesnt look big, so he must not be on the juice” is a foolish one.

+1 I remember.
thats why i never argue with kiddies about baseball and steroids, most have no clue.
Damn youngins!

But that is an incorrect statement because “the clear” is a steroid and was designed specifically for the recovery purpose.
Steroids are not solely for bulking up which is why so many track and field and other endurance athletes takes them(bulking up for them would be counterproductive) this being said a STARTING pitcher who is coming off a 125 pitch outing (lets say for this arguement’s sake he is a power pitcher) even with 4 days rest would not be able to hit his normal 98 on the gun because of fatigued arm, but he takes steroids and is able to come out 4 days later and have his best stuff because of the recovery capabilities.
Steroids didn’t even cross my mind when looking at games played compared to home runs, but it did make me realize how fixed baseball must be. How does a baseball player who hadn’t broken the 50HR mark in one season before 2001 all of a sudden hit 73? Then it drops down to the 40 mark. Granted, he didn’t play as many games for a couple seasons, but he was still on pace for like 30-40 HR’s.
Then you go back a few years ago with the Sosa and McGuire bullshit…

great another thing for someone to whine about. He was shown taking batting practice without said “protector” and was killing them regardless. I believe it was said he hit 19 home runs in 11 rounds.
