One of my techs just got back from a special Nissan training GTR deal. Here are some interesting Facts.
-Can only launch the car 15 times before the transmission gives out. The most Nissan has got was 34 launches.
-The fluid lists at 80 dollars a quart. It costs dealerships 49.99 a quart. The car takes 10 quarts.
-The warranty depends on the driving, there is a black box in it just like an airplane.
-Customers have to sign a waiver stating they will not complain about brake or transmission noise.
-The brakes MUST be replaced at the same time, cost for replacing 6500.
-If something goes wrong other than an oil change at the dealership, a special team needs to be called and your outta a car for a while.
Also…look up the factory warranty…it has another flaw!
It stats, that if something brakes while the Traction control is on…your warrenty will be voided, and the part/parts that broke…wont be covered…dont believe me, look it up…if you ask me, thats pretty damn shitty for a 90k+ car.
I guess the car cant handle the power when the TC is on, and tends to break shit…do a search…I will look it up and see if I could find it again…their was a huge debat about it on my fquick site…give me a few.
“Talk about lame. Know that factory launch control feature they touted around, using it to make screaming fast laps? If you use it on your own personal GT-R, it’ll void your warranty. And a black box installed in each GT-R will record you using it. What else voids it? Racing it. I mean, this car was built for speed-limit crusing Sundays, right?”
theirs a copy of the factory warranty…expand it, and read it.
That isn’t traction control it is VDC. Turning it off allows burnouts, engages launch control, etc. Still lame as well as the GPS thing that senses where race tracks are :wtf
regardless, its still shitty…and IMO, it will turn away a ton of people that wanted to buy the car, and most likely will steer them in the ZR-1 direction…it kinda defeats the purpose of making it a “race ready, performance car” when you cant perform with it to its full potential without voiding the warranty…its BS…If I were to spend that type of money on a car, Im damn well gonna drive it how it was made to be driven…the GT-R keeps you from doing that.
I don’t know about you but if I bought that car and the tranny dropped after a year and they denied me a warranty claim, I would be FURIOUS. It doesn’t matter how much money the car cost or how much money the owner has, that isn’t the point. The point is Nissan isn’t standing behind their product. And it’s a damn shame.
