lol nice one^
I think in a whole though what is going to happen is we will either get : a huge sweeping reform that is almost too large and powerfull OR nothing at all. Dissapointing because we do need action of some sort thats for sure.

Bump. Here’s the Senate bill. Cliffs:
Insurance exchanges will be set up in 2014 to help the uninsured get coverage.
A public option will be available on these exchanges.
Anyone below 133% of the federal poverty line will be eligible for Medicaid.
Anyone between 133% and 300% of the poverty line will get subsidies to buy insurance.
Insurance companies will be required to accept all new customers, even with preexisting conditions.
Annual and lifetime limits on coverage will be prohibited.
Insurance companies will be forbidden from canceling policies when a person got sick.
Insurance companies will not be allowed to charge sick people more than healthy people.
Employers with more than 50 employees will be fined for not providing health insurance.
Small businesses will receive tax credits to help them buy insurance for their employees.
Uninsured individuals will be fined $750 per year.
The size of the Medicare donut hole will be reduced by $500.
Children will be allowed to stay on their parents’ policies until age 26.
Policies will have to explain their benefits in a standardized form in simple English.
An appeals process will be created so patients can fight back when coverage is denied.
There are many provisions encouraging preventive medicine.
Also I love everyone and your arguments are most definitely valid. And the first person that says “Socialism” I am making a thread in Drama to say mean things about.
:snky:
"Uninsured individuals will be fined $750 per year. "
I think that is stupid, it should be a person choice to have healthcare as it should be to wear a seat belt and a helmet.
Now the idiots of the world wont be deleted from the jean pool as easily
Not to mention this is going to skyrocket our taxes as they aren’t already out of control!!!
"Insurance companies will not be allowed to charge sick people more than healthy people. "
Also BS, why the hell should I have to pay the same as someone who Smokes, doesn’t excercise, doesn’t eat right?
My health insurance is $12 a month all thanks to me being healthy, not smoking, eating right, being within weight recommendations, and haveing an above average fitness level…
This pisses me off!!!
Nope, I totally support the uninsured persons part. Guess what, those assholes still get treated when they walk into an emergency room but the rest of us end up paying for it.
I’m against the public option, for reasons expressed several times in this and other threads.
I’m only for allowing children to stay on their parents coverage if they are enrolled full time in college, and even then past 24 is a bit ridiculous.
Employers with more than 50 employees will be fined for not providing health insurance.
I’d need to see more details on that. Not all jobs are valuable enough that I feel health insurance should be mandatory for the employer to provide.
Much of the rest of it is good. I’d like to see a lot more that would control costs, things like tort reform, ability to shop for insurance across state lines etc, but those are unpopular with Democrats and the trial lawyer association so you’ll never see that.
:word:
Business owners will just past the cost on to us and it’ll make products and services more expensive. Arrgh I don’t understand why people don’t get this and why this is so bad! :smash2:
Yea kids being covered till they are 26, WTF? My parents haven’t given me a dime since I was 17. That is crazy! Just makes our youth even more irresponsible as if they aren’t already enough.
You didn’t go to college full-time. Being a full-time student without having to work a dead-end job to get health insurance is not irresponsible.
Joe your wrong I worked 40 hours night shift then went to school 10-4 three days a week for 2 years and went part-time for 1 year
If you go to school full time you’ll have your 4 year degree by 22-23 years old. That’s why I said past 24 was too much.
Meh, for a lot careers you pretty much need grad school these days. Anyone who can get it done full time like I did deserves to keep their med . I wouldnt wish full time work and school on anyone
:word: I know it’s hard, but 26 just seems crazy at 22 I owned a house
Couple thoughts:
Is this the same group that makes the standard IRS 1040 readable in “plain English”?
So people on the public option can appeal to the government when they get denied, too? Seems like the public option can get pretty pricey, pretty quick - that is, if they play by “usual and customary” payment rates. Somehow, I don’t think that would work for long.
FUCKING PUSSIES. They caved to Lieberman on the public option in the Senate. Lets hope it gets back in there in the House-Senate conference. He’s such a piece of shit, he was for all of this stuff a couple months ago, he’s just pissed cause he got primaried out of the Democratic nomination from the left in the last election for being practically a damn Republican.
I don’t see this ever passing with a pubic option.
They took the pubic option out of the House bill when they put that anti-abortion shit in.
Latest poll is 62% don’t want it. Hopefully it will pass then NO ONE will get re-elected and the new people can reverse the bill and set this country on the right course. Sorry I was dreaming for a second there.
Mr. and Mrs. America with $40,000 cc debt have no clue about fiscal responsibility and that is why they vote the way they do.
Americans vote? you must be referring to American Idol?
So true, that post.
If everyone voted the country would vote overwhelmingly Democratic. The people who don’t vote are young people and minorities.
That is the problem with democracy people can vote themselves “free” stuff, which is another topic I guess.
(Yeah, I know we are a republic blah blah blah)
Welcome to USSA.
It brings a tear to my eye to know how much Harry Reid cares for me.
