Hey All!
I hope everyone has had an excellent holiday over the past week and wish you all the best in the New Year!.
Well the time is nearing of the kick off of The Infamous Project. Friday at 3pm I plan to begin broadcasting and will be introducing the first project car! You will be able to tune in via the website at www.theinfamousproject.com/live or you can access the USTREAM page directly via http://www.ustream.tv/channel/the-infamous-project
I have just completed paint and working on final assembly of the 1997 M3 project car and will be testing the camera tomorrow getting things ready for Friday. Here’s hoping my ISP is reliable enough to provide uninterrupted streams for all. But please bare in mind that ISP’s have issues, power outages occur etc. I will do my best to maintain a feed at all times.
Again please be sure to follow along on the website as all major updates will be covered there under the NEWS! section.
See you Friday!
I don’t really get what you are trying to do. How is this out of the ordinary?
It’s not… I am just using the resources i have allowing anyone to watch… Not to mention I will have full documentation of my own builds this way too!
Just an update! Been working on the BMW so far, and the project is going well! I have recently been featured in the Peterborough Examiner News Paper and will be on the CBC Morning Radio talk show on Thursday! Be sure to check out the site for updates and information
Well she’s painted! Turned out great and I am very pleased with the results :D… Cleared the car at 6am this morning and the vids are all posted on my site for anyone who wants to see some spraying in action…
I didn’t have the big lights on when i took the pics but you can get an idea of the finish if you look closely… The passenger side skirt came out great too! Tomorrow I will be installing trim and we’ll be getting ready for the M3 cam install!
looking good man!
Well for anyone who missed the show and doesn’t want to watch the vids… I must say this car is turning out AMAZING!! Still need to mount the front lip (silver to match) and adjust the front bumper supports… You can get an idea of how nice i laid the clear in these pics too… and the car is dusty!!
i personally think the moulding would like nice black, but car looks good none the less!
great job on the bodywork, looks awesome
but do you like how the wheels sit now?
i think they defenitley need bigger tires + offset or spacers or just wider wheels, unless this is the look you’re going for
Fronts can’t be spaced out anymore or a wider tire as they now JUST clear the coil overs on the inside and JUST clear the fender lip on the outside… (5mm spacer)
Rears I want wider tires but just waiting to cook these ones off first… now with all the mods they won’t last long!
Project 2 well on its way!
Well the car is painted! You can see here the stages of paint:
1- Base Coat alone
2- Clear Coat with “matting agent” which still applies glossy
3- Final product after drying overnight = Satin Black! (pics don’t do it justice)
More pics can and info can be seen on my site www.theinfamousproject.com/news
Looking good!
damn that looks hot!
thats the color i want my hatch to look like once its ready for paint
Gonna be at the shop early tomorrow to finish up some trim install etc ~10am. The Racecraft Drop Spindle and Suspension install for the 4-5" drop will begin at 3pm EST sharp! Don’t miss it…
Well it was a LONG day and I am glad I am taking Sundays off now as I am sore from all the rolling around on the ground! Got a lot done tho, including the car back on the ground on its own suspension.
Front = FMS C Springs (1 coil cut) with Racecraft 2" drop spindles (SN95). ISO’s are installed and I will need to get the MM CC plates installed to get more camber.
Rear = DECH Grabbers which I have a custom set being made that will further lower the arm by another 1" which should make this rear of the car sit with a slight rake to the front. I also went with the custom coil over design to help keep the spring seated. (Thanks Arachnid for these, i did modify them further to allow for more drop)
The result! Speaks for itself… The rear will be coming down 1 more inch and I will be shaving the bump stops as I am 1/2" away from the axle tubes
More info and detail is posted on the website.
