THE **iPhone** Thread (GPS, JailBreak, Apps, Etc)

Basically all they’ve done so far is describe how multi-tasking apps work.

Folders!

Also, JB the phone and worrying about the next update bricking the thing sucks. I’d much rather have native support for these features.

Ya but when the OS actually supports it, it makes it a lot smoother than someone finding out how to use an API thats not documented. Lol.

This is looking awesome. I can’t wait for the high powered 4th Gen iPhone. This would be so fluid to run.

now that they’ll have it we’ll never know what could have happened

Everything so far my Droid does…It’s good for apple but nothing really ground breaking.

right but im just saying they better not say that this is all revolutionary or whatever cause its just finally being supported thats all

They haven’t. Steve Jobs in the first 2 minutes said “We are not the first to these games but we are looking to be the best”

They aren’t the first to have multitasking but the way they were talking about it was really impressive where the apps support it and they integrate into the OS itself so they dont need to run full blown all the time to stay running in the background and do what they need to.

Multiple exchange mailboxes

ya I was excited for that one. now i can use google and my work email sync.

Using my phone for work, VPN enhancements such as SSL VPN Support and Exchange 2010 is gonna be big.

I can finally stop using POP3 for my second exchange mailbox. I already have 2 Gmails and 2 exchange (one in POP3).

Lol does your battery die after like 4 hours with that?

Side note… how the hell did they decide on “tent pole” as their catch phrase for the features. Lol.

I also wonder if this social gaming will allow applications to matchmake using apples servers like Xbox Live.

Nah’s I can’t go more than probably 12 hours without this thing dying…

iBooks seems rediculous on an iPhone. SSL VPN support for Cisco ;tup:

Apple is selling and hosting ads now… yikes… the Google/Apple war is on still I see. Still buddy buddy with google maps tho which is good.

Will this mean Apple plays the content Nazi and controls what ads are displayed?

Its nothing new for them. Lol.

No multitasking on the 3G or 2nd gen iTouch

which is what I have for work…Oh well I don’t really use it that much anyway. Hopefully the multiple exchange boxes will still get pushed through.

seems to be a lot of nice things coming to the iphone but most of it was just playing catch up either to the JB community or android :tif:

Q: Is there going to be an approval process for the ads, much like the App Store does, because you’re going to be hosting?

A: I think there will be some boundaries, like you can’t run any ad on ABC. There are some ads we’d rather not run, but the concept are that these advertisers will pay to run ads, and they’ll pay to run ads that are well received by the audience. I’m not sure there’s going to be anything but a light touch.

what a surprise

Q: Is there going to be any change in Apple’s position on Java or Flash on version four?

A: No.

Idiots

and still the old boring UI…

iAd is funny. He is really taking some shots at google…Which is awesome. This rivalry they have going is great for all of us consumers

all the updates are par for the course…just keeping up with the times.
