Jebus iPads are 91% of all tablet web traffic
I love the shot he took at other tablets after the web traffic comment…
“I don’t know what these other tablets are doing! They must be in warehouses or store shelves or maybe in peoples’ bottom drawer.”
Some random twitter post… “Suddenly my phone feels 18% clunkier”
LTE!!
What does everyone think for a release date? im saying Oct 10th
The calendar on the one their using for this demo is set to 10/1, so I’m going to say 10/1.
Didn’t notice that.
My vote is like 2-3 weeks. I bet you can order them this week.
The shared photo streams is interesting. Kinda like they are going after instagram.

LOL
I love Gizmodo:
He’s talking about the phone has been “completely redesigned,” which is a very loose definition of either “completely” or “redesigned”.
1136 x 640? Really? :tif:
16:9 aspect ratio
Still only 8mp? :tif:
7.6mm
No NFC :tif:
Intrested to see actual battery life for people who use the phone.
No NFC? That is honestly shocking. I was sure they were going to push NFC (with payments) in this release. Actually, I had a person VERY familiar with the NFC industry who was 100% sure of it some months back.
Metal back = no NFC.
And no inductive charging on this thing either :meh:
I fucking love Apple products. They are like the Honda’s of electronics.
Bought my iPhone 4 32GB for $300 when it came out. After 2 years, I am trading it in for $235 to buy another $300 iPhone5. My phone cost me $65 for 2 years.
I would give NFC sometime anyways
^^ Taxes?
And what percentage of your bill is subsidy that brought the cost down to $300?
You can trade in an iphone 4 for $235? They are cheaper than that on craigslist. Where are you getting that offer? I could see that for a 4s, but not for a 2 year old iPhone 4.
I have to say, this has probably been the least exciting iphone announcement to date. Nothing new from the leaks. No ground-breaking functionality at all.
I know i’ll sound anti-iphone (which I really am not, even though I come off that way), but they are really just playing catch-up with this release.
Well, going either tonight or tomorrow to get a Galaxy S3.
Worse case I hate all the lack of polish in Android so much that in a year I use my wife’s upgrade to get a 5s.
Google Android and Linux-based MeeGo operating systems
… Nothing about Windows phones with NFC? And since they said MeeGo for Nokia, well there is only 1 phone that runs that… and that’s what I have, lol:
NFC on the N9 isn’t turned on by default, but once it’s enabled, it too will accept malicious content and requests with no prompting.
My NFC has been turned off since I tried to get Angry Birds Magic to work unsuccessfully.

This is my next phone: HMD, makers of Nokia phones
I would never use it myself out of paranoia, but I still expected it to come.

Frankly I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how much polish has come in the past year. However, I still think you’ll find a way to hate it.
If I were you, I would wait a short amount of time and get the RAZR Maxx HD. The RAZR M that just came out is probably pretty good too. Just a little smaller than the S3 and Maxx HD.
Near Field Communications. Keep your phone away from…
The attack works by putting the phone a few centimeters away from a quarter-sized chip, or touching it to another NFC-enabled phone.
… or keep the feature tuned off.
I was speaking more in terms of the mobile payment part of NFC. I have NFC on my Galaxy Nexus. I have never actually used it, though.
