I haven’t downloaded any paid ones yet. The free ones I use a lot:
Weatherbug
AIM
Pandora
Sportstap (nice little live sports scores app)
Shazam (identifies music by listening to it for 8 seconds)
YPMobile (yellow pages mobile, just seems to work better than searching on google maps)
MyLite (a stupid app that turns the screen all white to work as a flashlight. Yes, it’s dumb, but I’ve used it twice since I installed it).
I’m anxiously awaiting this one that will be great on the boat: http://www.inavx.net/
I’m sure there are a bunch of other cool apps I just haven’t spent much time looking for them.
Amen. Thats why I am waiting for the jailbreak to produce some solid 2.0 apps since apple’s SDK wont allow the apps to change the phone, run in the background, or a bunch of other things.
Pandora and Weather Bug are great. Pandora burns the battery up in a few hours so I only use it if I have a charger close by and WeatherBug has radar which is great to determine the storms in the area when out riding.
I also just love having a real web browser to actually view normal web pages and not a formatted for phone version.
Flash your firmware to the jailbroken 2.0. Install OpenSSh and you need to replace a file with one in the package and then you can install the games included with iTunes.
Impossible from everything I have read with the locking of it and ATTs policy with it having to be activated in store. I am going international in the next few months and will need to look at it but as far as I know, ATT has a prevented it from being unlocked and sold for other providers.
usenet and downloaded the packages. its 447MB extracted. includes a bunch of games and files to copy to your iphone. needs to be jailbroken first tho so you can SSH to your phone.
Here is a link about how to do it with some download links for games. There was one more file I needed from a package I downloaded but I do not know if its required with this method.
