i basically opened redsnow and didnt click unlock or icy and re-jailbroke everything and i still have icy but everything works now :tup: thanks!

Possible Gmail push for the iPhone. Hopefully Apple allows it through.

With cydia is there still a way to get almost any app free? Not just the ones in selections

I doubt it. Allowing gmail push will really cut into MobileMe sales.
Hopefully MobileMe has a following esp with the find my iphone that this would not be a changer for its customers.
If not I can see this App getting released on jailbreak. We will see a Gmail push app in the coming months.
You can do Gmail push if you have a PC on all the time using Growl for Windows and Prowl on the iPhone.

Ever since i updated my phone i do have the crappy edge network but it feels like the internet got a little slower… it takes awhile to get my e-mails now. just wondering if others ran into this.
anyone else try the new Turn-by-Turn GPS app called Mobile Maps America by Sygic? i like it better than xGPS cause you can understand what the person is saying and the maps are already loaded so no need to download them on the fly. i have not really messed around with it too much yet though

for those who jailbreak their phones, what sort of things can you do outside of run pirated apps?

I’ll be trying it out in a little while. Grabbed it from the newsgroups last night but forgot about it until lunch today. Brought the laptop to work so I could let it transfer there since it was taking so long. Even doing SSH over the USB cable at 1MB/sec takes a while to copy the 1.7GB IPA over. 
Not sure who else had tried this, but SSH over USB is SOOOOOO much faster than WiFi. On WiFi I would normally peg transfers around 300-350. USB it’s 1MB/s.
Really easy to set up too:
I personally like FileZilla more than WinSCP, but to use that the directions are exactly the same except where it says “Open WinSCP” you open FileZilla and instead of protocol SCP you use SSH.
