Ya you run it on a 3.1.2 iPhone/Touch and it installs the blackrain app into your iPhone. After that you can choose to install RockTheApp, Cydia, or Icy
not working for me, just stuck at “running” for the past 30 mins
Stop all your iPhone/iPod processes in Windows. Also are you running it on a 64bit system? I had to run a 32bit VM of Windows XP to get it to work but now flashed back to standard 3.1.2 since I need to take my phone in tomorrow and see if they will replace it.
Maybe thats my issue I didn’t kill all services

cydia stopped working for me; every time i open it, it crashes yet it was working just the other day. i restarted my phone several times, anyone know of a fix?

I spent 3 hours trying different configurations of running/not running programs, bit rates, restarting my phone and restarting my computer and it will not boot past “running”, look at the comments on his blog, it’s not just me or a few ppl, it’s a ton
Same here. Downloaded, ran, jailbroken. Had to flash back to 3.1.2 so I can bring it into the store and assume the next one will be fine.
They are always going to try to keep the device locked. Apple is the most anti-open software/device company out there. They tried to fix the hardware exploits in the 3rd gen iPod Touch and the 3Gs uses a new signed iboot using a unique device id. They will always try to lock people out and people will continue to try to break it open.
I actually bought Beejive. Keeps you signed in for up to 7 days, works great, and very reliable. The numbers of illegal downloads are super inflated becuase not everyone who downloads is saying that they would buy it.
I enjoy $.99 apps. I got a mario kart like game that you can play online over 3G and love my GPush app.
with that and the dev team looking like they are straying away from windows versions of jailbreaking it looks like i will have my 3g at 3.0 for a long long time now
+1. So far 3.1 and 3.12 have looked far buggier than 3.0.1 anyway. I guess that’s what happens when Apple pushed out upgrades that are more about locking down the phone than making improvements. I’ve been really happy with the stability/performance of 3.0.1 so unless some major new features come out I see no need to “upgrade”.
I upgraded to 3.1 and haven’t had a single issue that I didn’t already have with 3.0.1. And the only real issue was when certain apps would crash out if I did too much at once.
