The Metric System

400m is the benchmark in Europe instead of 1/4 mile.

Just like 0-100kph vs. 0-60mph. It’s damn close.

Everything in metric is multiples of 10’s. Easier.

We’ve come too far using standard measure to change now.

Look at England. Or India.

It can be done. Easily.

I’m an American who hasn’t been taught anything Metric since middle school. I know that I weigh about 100 kilos, I’m a little under two meters tall, the speed limit is roughly 100 kph, and I’ve been buying soda in liter bottles my entire life. If we’re “the greatest country on earth”, SURELY we have the mental capacity to understand the metric system.

you sure as fuck complain a lot about senseless shit

I wish I had nothing to do like you all the time

Some people can understand it. Most people can’t go from centi- to kilo- without a conversion chart, let alone F to C.

OK, so let the dumbfucks struggle while I multiply powers of 10.

You know what they call a quarter pounder with cheese in France?

40 hours at the pizza shop and countless hours at Northwood.

I just don’t sleep anymore.

Is that 0.04 kilo-hours?

A Krustyburger with cheese?

Nah, they got the metric system, they don’t know wtf a quarter pound is.

a Royale with Cheese.

(or in French-Canada, Quart de Livre avec Fromage!)

how about Metric TIME?

 Too funny not to laugh 3 pages later! :bowrofl:

back in my day, i had to walk a hundred rods just to get my hands on a hogshead of maui wowie

Agreed…:blue:

And as for having a full set of both, I might even have 2 full sets, one at work and one at home.

On the subject of where you find each, I really dont have a problem with either, but when you work on some shit that has both that is just stupid. WTF was GM thinking???

I’d rather deal with metric and standard systems on the same vehicle than one goddamn Torx screw.

So you have worked on those fuckin jeeps too, huh???
