It has Warren Buffet, Jim Kelly, the Geico gecko (and probably some other names that I’m missing because I’ve seen it twice just not all the way though) talking about opportunity for businesses in Buffalo.
It turned my head… and made me shake it as well, lol. I hope some big company CEO sees it while drunk and coked out of his mind at the Bellagio and thinks it’s an idea worth investigating… so we can have our next Bass Pro…
Cynical commentary aside, it’s something cool to see when you’re out of state. Hopefully we’ll see some ROI with this undoubtedly tax payer funded TV spot.
NYS logic= let’s say that we are lowering taxes for businesses when in reality we just want to tax them some more. Come open s business because we need more your money.
Ehhh they’ve spent tax dollars in worse ways. Who knows maybe Buffet and gang footed the bill. Regardless, any press can’t hurt. I saw one of these for Topeka Kansas a few months back… FUCKING TOPEKA. It at last got my mind thinking wtf is the deal with Topeka?
Hopefully they actually commit to making it easier for growing businesses to build/move here.
Local economic development organizations keep giving tax breaks to big box stores/national chains which doesn’t do much to help the economy. They also have been giving tax breaks to places that would be building regardless.
I do too. I have recently started a small side business that I am currently 1099, but I am hoping to get it established soon. I filed my DBA, got my insurance and I am ready to start getting jobs.
Doesn’t the state have the lowest income taxes ever right now? We never notice it because counties raise their rates anytime the state drops theirs but I thought I read NY was lower than ever.
