All that mess is squared away already. I just need to get some new 13" rotors my last ones were shot after that track event. I did find the rainbow colored rotors mildly entertaining though.
Awesome Vid. I can’t believe that lady in the voicemails.
+1
Most people out there are still newbs. We all started someplace. Give good point bys and no one will care
Add me to the newb group too. This whole having to turn during a race is new to me…
Before we start each day we ask if anyone is new and if they want someone to ride with them to show them how things go. There are plenty of people out there with experience who won’t mind riding shotgun and helping you out… and then there is MDP47 who doesn’t mind driving your car for you while you ride shotgun, lol.
Awesome video! I can’t wait to try out Dunnville…
lol like my first time around the track… sigh i went a little quick through part of turn 1 and went straight off the track… lol… dunnville is the most fun you can have with your car IMO
Awesome vid  look forward to the new season…
in a new car
wait until you get to a track with elevation change and camber, the glen is like a rollercoaster that you drive.
i did MAYBE 3 lapping days prior to last year and never in a car capable of more than 4 hot laps in a row…
2008 was my first year of lapping hard and i still never got more than 10 laps in a row…yet i still smoked cassie… FFFfffuuuuuuuuu
nah seriously though, you pick it up pretty quick. trick is to start slower than slow and just up the pace each lap until you reach the peak of your comfort level.
once i get my car sorted out well enough (no fires or other things that contribute to death) i’ll give mosport a try…
No thanks… I’m not ready for that… Lol
That’s good to know and I imagine helps out a decent amount. I wouldn’t really have a clue what lines to take and all that crap.
If we have enough complete newbies (or people interested) I’d be more than happy to hold a classroom session.
There are also a bunch of experienced people happy to ride along and help you learn (also make sure you ride with them!) It’s always best to get someone who understands the different lines for FWD, RWD, AWD, or just chose someone with the same basic platform to shadow.
Mike makes a solid teacher.
Nothing better than riding shotgun with him in your car…sideways.
I am looking forward to be even slower than last year…Hopefully I have my car ready by then.
True that!!! Experienced guys like Jeller, Xander and Spencer seem always willing to jump in the passenger seat with newbies. If you ask me it’s a huge help to take guys like them with you… They really show you how to read the lines and where to get on it and where to get off the throttle.
MPD I am taking you up on the offer next winter when I am back for good. Actually when is the last race of the season i might catch it? I am serious about getting into this as I have done drag racing for so many years and want to tackle the turning thing. Although I have like NO experience I really don’t even take turns fast on the street like ever.
It’s super easy to pickup and be decently quick. Last day isn’t scheduled yet, but hopefully you can make it!
Mike’s in-car consultation will cause you to break your wheels…
“Bing i think you can take turn 3 a bit wide wider and carry more speed through it…”
hey thanks Mike,.
Is it possible to get track head while I am zooming around the course?
Or are there rules for that sort of thing?
I am so excited to try my hand at this…I will probably suck and crash but I think I can make atleast one turn
