The "Oil Prices" thread.

$106.35/barrel for light crude right at the moment.

Meanwhile lean hog 71.6 cents/pound. Dayum.

:uhh:

What were lean hogs a year ago?

Oil was about to go under 100 just a few days ago. Not sure what happened to drive it back up.

I dunno. But I spent about 10 seconds looking for what corn was a year ago, given the whole ethanol thing. I didn’t find anything, and got bored.

Less idiots on the road when gas is 4 bucks a gallon.

I could care less, my piece of shit saturn ion gets at least 30mpg on summer gas.

With gas at $4 per gallon, my fillup would still be under 40 bucks.

According to a couple of dated news articles…

Feb 07: $3.23 / bushel
Today: $5.47 / bushel

Wonder how much of that is fuel related cost and how much is demand due to stupid ethanol.

prolly not much of a way to tell.

Also, inflation should be relatively moot there… no?

Inflation is what, 2% a year or less? 1.8 I think. So yeah, when comparing one year to the next that’s a minor issue.

yeah. I never knew before that citgo gas comes strictly from venezuela. I will be buying my gas there from now on.

I’d rather support big oil, the guys spending billions to find the new oil we’ll need for the next 40 years, than Hugo Chavez.

Some real good reading about what those profits are funding.

so, when oil prices shoot up, how come the gas prices at the pump go right up that day, but when oil prices go down, it takes a few days for the prices at the pump to go down? hmm…

Take off the foil hat. If you remember, oil was up in the $90’s for a real long time before gas moved at all.

:bigclap:

unwritten monopolies, always awesome

Crude oil prices rose to a new record high above $113 a barrel Tuesday as the U.S. dollar weakened further against the euro.

can anyone say over $4 a gallon by summer?

Be cool homie once americans can control their spending and the little “credit crisis” comes under control the dollar will stabalize and oil prices will come down some. Its just the waiting game for now. I think i just don’t mind because i haven’t paid for gas in over a year.

I’m all for it. The higher the prices go the more motivated we are to find an alternate energy source. Once we do that the middle east can fade back into a nomadic desert and its 100 year stint of absurd wealth will fade into the history books as just a flash in the pan.

Yes.
