The Trump Presidency Discussion Thread (Non-Meme version)

Ok, was just curious when you did and why since most of the policies you advocate for already exist in Canada.

I grew up with a lot of policies and never understood their downfalls/benefits until recently. I don’t actively look at Canadian policy and think it should be implemented here. I view American policy as it’s own entity with it’s own challenges. However, the one exception to that is healthcare. That’s an entirely different conversation, though.

Are you referring to medical support or other programs?

@JayS I think Kellyanne Conway may have finally gotten herself in hot water over promoting Ivanka’s brand. Your wish may come true soon…

Yay, the 9th district have just shown us what we all know, it’s liberal and political. Welcome to the USA where the law does not matter. The law was clearly on the side of Trump, there is no disputing that. You have to be completely mentally retarted to claim that Trump broke the law. Whether it was “right” or not is not the question here. It’s about whether it’s lawful or not. The Constitution does not apply to the world but only the citizens.

Holy shit, what a politicized judiciary system.

And for everyone here and in the news who keep claiming that Trump is lying about the threat, he is saying things that are not true…wait a minute how the hell do any of you know shit? You CANNOT have “facts” based on information that is classified. And if matters of national security are classified, anything you say is nothing short of pulling shit out of your ass.

Even if you hate him, dont believe a word he says, he is the devil, nothing you say has any factual grounding for that one reason; you cannot have facts on info you are not privvy to. Neither does NPR or any other MSM.

But didn’t Trump call for restrictions before he had access to classified information?

Question. Does anyone else find themselves becoming completely numb to the bad stuff trump is doing? I don’t agree with everything, and the guy is seriously one step away from the nuthouse (just look at his handshake videos). At this point he could take a shit on the floor in the oval office, paint a mural of obama-- in poo-- with his hands-- and id shrug it off just to watch the left lose their collective minds. They have become so batshit crazy that I cant deal with it anymore. Oh, and I’m a registered democrat.

She really needs to just go away. It’s about a 90% chance now that anytime she gets in front of a camera she fucks up. She’s the Palin.

@nermoria Please elaborate on how the judiciary system is ‘liberal and political.’

This wouldn’t have been an issue if he didn’t deny people who already had visas.

That was the primary basis for the state to argue back with.

Although recent years have seen other circuits competing with the Ninth Circuit for the title of “Most Reversed,” the Ninth still appears to hold the unquestioned title. The Ninth Circuit’s best showing in recent years was October Term 2009, with a 60 percent reversal rate in the 15 cases on which certiorari was granted. The Sixth Circuit got the prize for highest reversal rate that year, with seven cases resulting in seven reversals, while the Seven Circuit came in a close second (91 percent reversal rate in eleven cases). But in 2010, perhaps seeking to reclaim its position at the top of the heap, the Ninth Circuit was reversed a startling 19 times (79 percent), three times as many reversals as most circuits had cases before the Supreme Court. The same pattern continued in the 2011 (71 percent) and 2012 terms (86 percent), when the Ninth Circuit was reversed more than twice as many times as most circuits had cases before the Court.

The 9th Circuit is a joke. Glad to see they’re pushing to finally break it up.

The entire judicial system is not. The 9th circuit is the most consistently overturned court. They make decisions based not on law but on political leanings and have for long before Trump came into play. The law is ambiguous and they always find some way to cut in their political leanings only to have them overturned in the Supreme Court. in 2014 86% of this courts decisions were overturned. 86% overturned by justices working from the same constitution that they are working from. How is that possible without political bias?

If it’s not political, where were these judges who are so inclined to protect the Constitution , when Obama issued EO’s that were clearly not in his authority? Remember that SNL skit?

It’s clearly a powerplay or them trying to “remind” Trump that they have muscle. Hence the statement “the Judiciary system is not so powerless”.

How is it not stupid that the “rights of students” in Washington supercede the rest of the USA, National Security? If they can just do that at a whim, because of the Democrats pushing for everything anti-Trump, how is the system not political?

The point here is that whether you feel what the president is doing is right or wrong does not matter. It doesn’t matter if you don’t think these countries have any possibility of exporting terrorists. He is the president and has the authority to do certain things, this being one of them. “Donald Trump lost the popular vote”… well in this matter all the polls that so many people worship, clearly show that the majority of the US population supports the Trump ban.

Also, if there’s a room in a house that is burning, you dont say “the room is on fire” you say “the house is on fire”.

And I agree when looking at this more closely the issue is that the Trump team walked into this one. The crude implementation should have been refined so it did not hurt people who already had visas or went through the immigration process because then there would be nothing to latch on to. The lawyers who represented the government were also seemingly incompetent, should have hired Paul Cambria. What irritates me is that for all the democrats who said the implementation of this sucked not the actual content of the EO, the megaphone of the far left was far louder than any Democrat who actually made sense in what they said.

IIRC the 9th had no problem with Barry blowing up innocent women and children in 8 countries for 8 years. But for fucksake DO NOT DELAY ANY NON-CITIZENS FROM ENTERING OUR COUNTRY FOR A COUPLE HOURS!
Think about that next time you are waiting in line (with your squeaky clean record) at the airport so some creepy guy making $12/hour can feel you up.

Does the 9th circuit get the same security briefings the President gets?

This country is fucked and an outsider getting in is exposing it.

Russia open to meeting with US administration and restore ties to a broken relationship from a country who snubbed our last President. Remember also, Hillary wanted to enforce a no fly zone with US military over Syria, a country that openly invited Russia to help them and never invited us in the first place.

Still am curious how the intel flow works for these terror raids. Someone new in office after 2 weeks suddenly has to make decisions if its worth it or not to authorize a raid is strange. Seems like maybe a issue with the intel community giving bad information or something else was missing?

It’s hilarious reading the MSM this morning.

“TRUMP GETS CHECKED!”

“THIS IS WHY WE HAVE THREE BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT!”

Ok guys, settle down. It’s the 9th Circuit. I’m glad they ruled the way they did. This was going to end up in front of the Supreme Court either way and the 9th Circuit has been overturned 80% of the time. It’s a pretty safe bet that what ever side the 9th is on is the unconstitutional side.

So now Gums Mcgee is running the country? Great…

100%.

I LOVE that left is absolutely losing their minds. Know they know how it feels to lean right and live in NY.

This is not to say that i agree with everything that Trump is doing.

Dan

The left is definitely suffering from chicken little syndrome right now. You can only scream that the sky is falling so many times before people start ignoring you. Maybe if they hadn’t wrongly tried to claim every one of Trump’s cabinet picks (excluding Chao) were the next Hitler their legitimate concerns with DeVos would have gained more traction.

I still dont get that the left really never complained about Hillary getting the nomination (I mean it looks like she would have carried a popular vote anyway, super delegates aside, but still).
