They’re a democracy and voted in the people that are running in the country. It’s not really much different than if say Detroit got wiped out by a giant F5 tornado. I wouldn’t expect the federal government to come in and build Detroit back up to say Dallas standards. It was falling down before the tornado because of decades of democrat policies so that’s all it should be rebuilt to. PR is no different.

And my brother got pulled out of Puerto Rico today. He is a disaster emergency coordinator for Health and Human Services. He has been down there since the first week. Most disasters like Harvey in TX, Irma in FL he is only on site for 1 week to manage first response then turn over to the locals. I have yet to speak with him but I expect to hear that PR is a disaster.

I’ve been travelling for work a lot lately so haven’t been able to keep up with this stuff.
I think people are also just sick of the constant circle jerk around here. It really did become useless to try and have any actual discussion. I still did it because I’m genuinely interested in the topics at hand and not to act like I’m better than internet people.
Puerto Rico update:

The FBI had previously opened an investigation into the level of fraud and corruption within Puerto Rico’s municipal authorities and reports of widespread theft of U.S. aid by officials of the local governments.
