i agree with everything except 13 and 14, and we do have 4 here. also i miss jims steak out and ETS and playing hockey. i also miss my old job and obviously my girl.
Yeah thats what I would miss the most about Buffalo is the food/friends…but especially the food, cuz you can always email friends.
i miss dennis in his boxers
I live in buffalo(burbs)
the one thing i miss about Buffalo
Bubble tea.
ok - more things I miss -
- Pumice
- Pumice’s near unnatural attraction to young girls
- The size of Katie’s skirts
- Canadian Ballet
- Bar hopping Lundy’s Lane
- How anal Tom Klemman is with his car
- How anal Ralph was with his Orange SS
- Rick tha ruler
- Dominic The Blue Power Ranger (RIP)
- The blowoff valve Howie had in his A4 that sounded like the brakes of a bus
- the cheep liquor and smokes at the duty free
- the cheep smokes and gas at the res
- proximity to niagara falls and toronto
- Gin Gin’s and 99 (those are merely for nostalgic reasons - the food out here is actually much better)
And for those of you who think the roads in Buffalo are bad - wait till you see them in the rest of the country. SF probably 2x as many potholes / broken roads as WNY does - and with the natural hills and such, its hard to imagine how ricers with 2+ inch drops get around…
Oh - and there is no Super Walmart in the Bay Area - there’s a regular walmart by the oakland airport but its in a scary neighborhood - like way worse than the East Side scary.
And b/c space is limited in SF itself, there is no room for drive thru anythings.
ah god man
<— moving to NC in a bit
fuck this place… and SF, not too into it from what you’re saying so far
Things I miss about Buffalo:
- Timmy Hos
I think that is about it.
Tim Hortons will expand now that it’s its own entity.
where do you live now?
My fiance and I are seriously considering moving to Raleigh or Fayetteville in a year after we get married. I’d miss things like the food (wings/beef on weck), snow during the Christmas season, friends/famly, and that’s about it.
I want to go someplace where you can’t get snow tires and nobody knows what seasonal depression is. I want to trade the Jetta for RWD vert (MR2 Spyder, stook, SN95 Cobra vert), grill comfortably all year long, and pay $1000/year in property tax. (Right now I have relatively “low” property tax and it’s around $3000/year. 8-12k/year is not uncommon here for a nice house in a nice community.)
We’ll come back to Buffalo eventually to have kids near our families, but for a few years I want to live someplace where they average more than 155 sunny days per year.
Boston, MA.
So it seems that I will not be missing Timmy Hos for much longer They actually have them in RI which is about 30 min away
If I waited to get my car, I would have saved almost $1200 in taxes.
watch out for the smug
Ohh snap, I am going to san fran on the 17th of April for 10 days.
SF is more than I could ever ask for / dream of for a an international city. SF is absolutely the only place that I would ever want to live. I just wanted to start a thread about some of the things I missed about the place i called home for 13 years.
One of these days I’ll start a thread about the things I love about SF, but most people will probably not find it terribly interesting. One thing that really blows my mind about this place is the fact that nearly 25% of the population is Chinese. As a demographic, Chinese-Americans actually hold significant politicial and financial power.
damn dennis when did you move? i saw you a few months ago picking you kid up from day care! still with hsbc or what are you doing now?
hahaha and thanks for not missing me asshole! :-p
from what i hear the other 75% are :hay:
