niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiicceeeeeeeeeeeeee. id jump off the grand island bridge if someone jumped with me. IDGAF.
The Peace Bridge is a suicide jump. There’s so much undertow and current there that you don’t come back up.
My uncle took his friends boat out that had a water depth gague on it and he said the water is only like 5 feet deep under The Peace Bridge, I’d say that’s a suicide jump
we used to do bridge jumping tours down the canal on bikes back in the day… we used to go from medina to the water control doors that onyx posted…
jump off every bridge along the way… except for the ones that are right in lockport as that would be inviting trouble since the police station is right there an all…
Yep that was actually my husband who did that with a bunch of his friends when they were in college. (obviously not off the highest part of the bridge though) He said once they got in the water they had to swim like hell to get to shore
I’ve jumped off this with 66ImpalaSS before during Ten Ugly Men Festival. About 20-25 feet. There are a couple bridges into the canal you can jump off of in Rochester.

Also jumped here. There was a 20 footer off a control tower, but I think they took that out. There is a 40 footer and a 60 footer off a cliff.

ithaca ny
buttermilk falls
top of the falls off into the reservoir
prob 60 ft high and is pretty damn deep
Smith St railroad bridge would be scary. It’s not the jump that would scare me. That water isn’t exactly the cleanest. The bacteria from the dirty ass water getting in your pee hole though…
is his name justin?
Heres the most extreme the Tonawandas have to offer.
Jump off the very top if you have the balls (people have died of course). Jumping off the bridge is hard enough but after you hit the water (if you land straight you will surely touch the bottom of the canal) you have a decent swim to the nearest ladder. People that live in NT call this “The Wall” due to the concrete wall you have to swim to get to the ladder.
or…
The swinging bridge is higher than it looks. A good time without much danger. The only challenge comes from the Niagara River and it’s current being so close.
or…
“The Chutes” is fun because it’s in the Niagara River so after jumping the current will take you about 100 yards further down stream. The bridge is the thing in the water(not accessible by land), not the bridge from which this photo was taken.
the only thing i have jumped off of is zoar waterfall. im not scared of the jump, more whats below the water that you cant see
my dad’s friend painted the peace bridge in the 80’s. he said he saw a car pull up, and a dude got out and jumped. he floated down the niagara river and a car picked him up at the little park for the riverwalk thing. he walked away… im not suggesting you do this
when are we having a jumping day?
I jumped off the akron falls on the 3rd of this month… in the dark… naked
I think I’m going to akron falls tonight.
I was joking about the peace bridge, but if anyone of you crazies want to try it I’d consult this first.

Not a lot of water to land in for something that high and once you hit if you’re hurt at all the current will almost certainly kill you. It’s a rough ride through there in my 18 foot boat… I really wouldn’t want to try it swimming.
Yeah but isn’t the canal super deep?
Oh, you’re talking about jumping into the black rock canal from the Peace Bridge? That’s a maintained navigational waterway that is listed as “canal draft” so I’m assuming the minimum depth is the same as the minimum depth in the Erie Canal. I went through there about a month ago but don’t remember what my depth sounder was reading since I wasn’t concerned with it being in a marked channel.
EDIT: BTW, the chart I have lists the clearance in the Black Rock canal to the Peace Bridge as 200 feet. That’s one serious jump and would only be from the lowest point on the bridge since it’s a clearance measurement. At high water the Golden Gate is listed as 220 feet clearance and the majority of people who jump from it die.
EDIT2: Toss this one in the, “I learned something new today” bucket.
The Golden Gate Bridge is not only the most popular place to commit suicide in the United States but also the most popular in the entire world. The deck is approximately 245 feet (75 m) above the water. After a fall of approximately four seconds, jumpers hit the water at some 76 miles per hour (122 km/h). At such a speed, water has proven to take on properties similar to concrete. Because of this, most jumpers die on their immediate contact with the water. The few who survive the initial impact generally drown or die of hypothermia in the cold water.
my uncle and grandpa went from both bridges, I wouldnt fuckin do it
Note self, golden gate is not for swan dives.
The bridge over river road into the tonawandas, waters deep, from the railing its 30 - 35 ft, over a second of falling, tallest safest one around. The bridge over webster st. next to it is good for flipping off of due to being only 20-25ft.
My favorite is the cliffs at sherkston, they are only 30 ft tops, but there is a good tree to climb that adds another 10ft, you have to push off and jump over the cliff, so thats a great rush, not really going to recommend it.
When I lived in the midwest, there was place called “the offsets” in southern missouri, some of the best times ive ever had, a quarry, with $10 admission, you can float, jump , party, camp , lie out, and just chill, 100s of people from 18-30 there on weekends just having a great time, had speakers surrounding the whole park blasting classic rock. at night you camp, everyones super chill and friendly, lotssss of beer. cliffs from 10 - 55ft. I thought they closed due to 2 people dying there in 1 weekend while i was there. looks like they are still open. heres a little vid of whats there http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOT-OGiUb6s

little better synopsis of the crazyness at the offsets
Sounds like my worst nightmare…
And both those videos look to contain the biggest collection of fggts and shitty midwest wiggers that I’ve ever seen.
