Things to show people in Buffalo

The waterfront down by the hatch is always nice, maybe they like boats
Show them where to dine, there is a ton of impressive restaurants in and around the city.
Then take them to my mom (Hunt Hamburg Office) and she can show them some houses:)

Show them the Stadium, the Arena, go to Sturgeon Point in Derby. Um… Allen Town, the Square, the Casino, the nightlife…

I don’t know.

Again, find out what they like, what they want in a place to live and show it to them.

agreed, i did a day trip up there 2 weeks ago and it was awsome i had so much fun! dan fuck tryin to impress them take kate and just do the jetboat thing its a blast!:eekdance:

thats such a baller house nice find! i might pick that up for a winter house

I used to drive past it a lot when my wife lived in Hamburg. I thought it was a golf course/country club.

Yep, coming to Buffalo soon though and need to do a little showing around.

Aero Drive

Est taxes… 38000… DAMN

90 east to NYC or 90 West to Chicago??

Take them to the grain elevators. I bet they’ll be so impressed with our “industrial art” and lack of waterfront development that they sign right up

But seriously, don’t take them to the falls. The falls isn’t Buffalo. Find out what type of tastes they have (food, architecture, clothing, hobbies, even cars) then choose one of the many restaurants in the city that fit them best. A place where others with the same tastes would go. He or She then sees that others like them are there and will feel more “at home.” And where, if they strike up a conversation, they’ll be talking to like-minded people.

If they like boating and waterfront, take them to Shanghi’s or Harry’s.

If they like culture and art, take them to Shea’s and dinner at the Chop House or Duo.

Show them to Roswell Park if they’re interested.

You need to know as much as possible about someone in order to decide how to sell them this city.

Agreed. You can’t sell the city’s past to someone who plans on making it their future.

Explain to them that the world supply of fresh water is becoming more scarce than oil and that living this close to such a large amount of it will be key 20+ years down the road… Maybe even sooner.

If its warm, JET BOATS!!!

Its amazing. Went last month with my friend from out of state. We loved it.

Golf at Holiday Valley.
Ellicottville is one of those waaaaay under appreciated local things.
It’s like Niagara Falls, when it is in your backyard you take it for granted.

BUFFALO, I dont want to spend more than like an hour driving them around the city tonight after dinner.

I dont plan on tying up my whole night here

Oh, that’s(Buffalo) a tough sell in just a couple hours.:biglaugh:

^ well, the job is enough for them to come here for an interview, its not a completely green sale here. They are already sort of interested in Buffalo, I just want to make sure I show them a few thing to give them a better idea so when the offer comes they don’t mark the area as on of the negatives

and with taxes only about $3k/month…

In the city specifically I would take them by delaware park, then cruise down middlesex passing by all the mansions, and the historical society. Cruise by the art gallery, then down elmwood. Elmwood down to the marina. Maybe show them some of the lofts downtown, city hall, chippewa, HSBC.

Dinner downtown somewhere nice. Maybe on the water as mentioned. Cruise through delaware park and around that neighborhood where all the doctors live anyways. Is that Elmwood Village or something? Lots of old mansion-like houses? Lincoln Pkwy?

I think this is where I"m thinking of. Not positive though.

Maybe swing past Shea’s, and then cruise through those townhouses on the water in case that’s more their style?

I’m just thinking that if you’re trying to sell them on a place to live, show them some of the nicer places they could actually call home. Both that area by Delaware park and the townhouses on the water would be cool places to live, near the hospitals, and you wouldn’t spend all night driving.

If they have kids in school maybe swing through a nice suburb or something. :gotme: Hell, if their kids play hockey: Arena, pepsi center, sign on dotted line.

^ thanks
