thinking about a gen2 used viper...?

lol

why do I see paragraphs and paragraphs of crap in this thread?

The guy asked for pros and cons to the Viper. Not whether he could afford it or not.

I am going on experience. Experience from driving a Viper GTS at a performance driving school and on multiple pace lap for a vintage race at the Glen.

My instructor (and the official pace car driver at the Glen at the time) was just over 6’3". He could not sit upright in the car, he had to tilt his neck down to see out the window. It was not comfortable, although I’m sure the shit eating grin on his face probably helped him forget about the discomfort. If your definition of daily driver is a weekend stint, or just to and from a car meet, I’m sure you will be fine. If you have to drive 30 minutes each way and you are in the 6’3" or so area, you might not be comfortable. Body types are different. Some tall people are taller in the legs, or maybe taller in the torso. This will make a difference in determining comfort. It is up to the individual.

Maybe in the newer Coupes they changed the cockpit dimensions or the seats, but in the Viper I drove, some tall people/ big people will not be comfortable over long periods of time. Since he said he was looking at used Vipers in the 40K range, he’s probably talking about the same Viper model that I drove a few years back. Your mileage may vary. I can only speak from my experience with the GTS.

Anyways, there are less than 10 people on this board who have owned or driven a Viper (and I’m not talking the occasional five minute spin joyride if you are lucky enough to know a Viper owner) for enough time to give any kind of advice on the car. Who these people are should be obvious. I would suggest PMing them with any specific Viper questions since the rest of the people are just guessing or going by something they saw on TV or read in a magazine. Thread closed.

Can’t even spend a Thanksgiving without babysitting the kids on NYSpeed.
