I would be very surprised if that wasn’t an aftermarket block in that thing…and would be even more surprised (and impressed) if it was a GM block holding up to the big power levels that is undoubtedly making.

It’s more likely he is just using lots of nitrous.
nitrous will cool the charge, but raise cylinder pressures immensely, therefore not helping to prevent detonation. he is probably running straight alcohol for fuel. many BIG boy FI setups don’t run intercoolers
