Americans are too fucking retarded for traffic circles, the single most efficient and simple way to coordinate an intersection. We need lights to tell us exactly when to go and when not to.
fixed
If you can’t figure this out you shouldn’t have a license. Fucking idiots.
So this morning I took a left at the circle, got to my destination much faster. Also found out that I have been fucking up stop signs too. Did you know the signs with white boarders mean you only have to stop if you see cars coming? If there isnt anything coming, the white boarder stop signs give you the right of way to just hammer through them.
:lol
Uh have you never left the US? They work smoothly in every other country I’ve been in. Europe is all about traffic circles
what’s the longest you’ve waited at a single light in a really bad traffic area (this one at rush hour), 3 min? 4min? what’s the longest it’s ever taken to get through an intersection with a roundabout, 30 seconds maybe?
truth is, traffic flows a hell of a lot better with a roundabout than it does with a light. even with lights that are coordinated by gps and have detectors on all legs of an intersection, you can still have situations where you are stopped for 2-4 minutes.
The massive backups are caused by loose links in the chain. You can have 1000 cars on a road trying to get to the same point. You can either sit at a light for a few mins, then a pack of 50 blast through it freely and travel on through un obstructed. Or get caught up in a 1000 car line of people hesitating way too much wondering if the car coming at them from the left is going to get off like the blinker says they are or broadside them, so they don’t enter the rotary. The first one you hit on RT85 off I90 at rush hour. The line of taillights you see as you are MILES away prove it. It takes you a good 10 minutes to go 5 miles, through those rotary’s.
it’s not so much the time, it’s the inpatient’s of all the drivers that makes them feel like failures. If you’re not moving, you feel like you’re wasting time. Look at the people that “red light creep”… sit at a redlight, and creep up an inch, stop, second later creep up again, stop, little more, stop… Those people I am willing to bet also can’t handle a rotary either!
I’m pretty sure the circles are only there because intersections don’t have a patch of grass in the middle of them for politicians to put there election signs. The potential increased traffic flow is just an unintended result.
LOL i like the way you look at things man!
