This vehicle is attractive.

isn’t this cheaper than what they go for anyways? and with $10k+ in add ons.

@XwalkerX’s next car?

I want to know what Japanese electronic sorcery is screwed into the dashboard:

that thing looks like its been flogged since new.

plus the ad lists it as having an s50 which was a 3.0L. The s52 was the 3.2L but did not make anywhere near 300hp (unless it has FI). The desired power plant for this vehicle is the s54 = 333hp.

either way I love these cars but would I spend money on this one? prob not.

i thought you mentioned these were $20k+ in the US right?

this converts down near $16k… still not worth it for a US buyer?

would this be something you could easily import into the US since it was sold there?

20+k for an s54 version (e46 m3 drivetrain)
im sure sub 20k for an s52 version (e36 m3 drivetrain)

there is no way they would sign off on it as a road worthy car without the airbag and all US spec exterior lighting.

Might be worth it for a US buyer who wants to get into some fun racing, but it is my understanding that @XwalkerX doesn’t want anything to do with race cars.

you’re forgetting that in Europe / Asia they got the S50B32 and not the US version which was basically a bigger M52

so unless the ad is wrong, this would be an S50 with 316hp. It’s a lot closer to the S54 and not worth swapping.

considering the miles and mods etc the price is right, but I’m not sure this will import easily since is a different variant to what we got in the US

oh damn youre right the euro s50.

also here is a nice list of coupes for sale in the US you can base your pricing off

http://www.mcoupebuyersguide.com/listings

it compares to a 2001 US with 50k miles, has AP racing big brakes, high end suspension, probably other nice mods…

you couldn’t build this car yourself in the US for under like $40-50k

yeah you couldn’t build it for less than that I agree, especially when the motor alone is $7500

but the real question is would you pay $40-50k?

never… but this kind of a pointless since I don’t think you could register this in the US just as with any other car that’s euro spec.

If it was a proper welded 6 point cage it might make a good racecar at 15k

prices on these, E30s, and air cooled 911s are skyrocketing for some reason.

Muscle cars are crashing.

i’ve always liked these cars, was looking around for one at a decent price when i ended up buying the S2K

What is the appeal? Didn’t the BMW 1M 3 door evolve out of this with the same specs on their modern engine?
