Well I have to go on my last Co-op for RIT. I applied to www.natc-ht.com for a co-op position for 6 months. They are paying me decent and I have to pay $90 a week for a company condo and the provide a company car for all of the Co-ops to go to work, no personal use. Carson City is ~25 minutes from Lake Tahoe and ~25 minutes from Reno.
Has anyone lived or been out that way, thoughts on the area?
Should I ask for relocation help? if the condo is furnished then I would fly or drive my suby. If it is not furnished then I would rent a penske and a trailer and bring my truck.
I’ve been to Tahoe and thus Reno and Carson by association. Carson is a preety big shite hole. Although its only 6 months, so who really cares if the job is good? Plus you get cheap housing. Put it all on black!
I’ve been skiing in tahoe a few times, don’t know much about carson city other than its location. If you are into outdoors type stuff or skiing or boarding in the winter I think it would be great to be out there for a while.
I don’t know how far you could get without a car. The area around the lake has a pretty extensive bus system but I don’t know about anywhere else.
