any of you guys running the redline fluids in any part of your cars? diff tranny or even regular engine oil? i’ve read on ziliva and nico that some take more time to warm up and such but i’d like some input from people in the edmonton region cause they’ll know better with our climate
i have it in my tranny and diff,mt90. i switched to regular oil cuz i couldnt find any in my town, and my tranny started making more noises than normal when shifting,so i drove to edmonton and picked up more.it is more viscous i believe so it would probably take longer to warm up(not 100 percent sure),but my unit is parked so i wouldnt know for sure.
i have synthetic in my tranny and engine. sometimes when its really cold and i start my car. my gears are so stiff that i cant even shift. but its smother once warm.
And redline SUPER HEAVY DUTY shockproof in the diff. It flows like a 75W90 oil but has the shear streangh of a 140W250. Help’s a worn viscous alot. But since its so heavy i usually drive slow for the first little bit in the morning just to make sure its ok.
I run MT90 in my tranny, works great. You should not run Shockproff in your tranny unless it’s hurting really bad because the stuff eats the synchro’s in our trannies. If the tranny is good and fucked, then it will get you a bit more life out of it, but it is going to die eventually.
I also run water wetter and despite what some people have said, i’ve noticed 15 degrees F lower temps when cruising on the hi-way compared to not having it, so its gotta be doing something for me.
see this is why i asked a nissan board, i listen to old muscle car guys talk about how royal purple is superior everyday. because it works better on one car does not mean it works better on all cars

I was not bashing redline, i use it in alot of my vehicles, i just pefer royal purple. You can’t be so dam bias, just cause i like muslecars does not mean i don’t like imports…yeeesh. A car is a car no matter what badge is on it. Anyways, i have ran redline and royal purple, i noticed a big temp drop and power increase with the royal purple, where redline didn’t perfom that well. Im gonna post that thread on all the oils, in reality each machine has its own oil that will work well.
P.S. Alot of older muslce car guys have been doing this for many more years than you, and still have great experience on what seems to work well. Import or domestic, we are all still trying to run the best products in our vehicles.

regardless you don’t own an s13 and you don’t daily drive one. different oils work for different cars…i’ve said it and you’ve repeated it…your input is appreciated…but i want input from people with the same car…you didn’t learn how build up a charger from listening to import guys did you?
