I would like to have some opinions about an issue I just ran into. Apparently, a Mod on a car forum posted a recipe on how to cook Pho(Vietnamese beef noodle soup). Then I commented on his ingredients and the way he prepared it is incorrect/wrong in a very manner way. Then I wrote down the recipe, ingredients, and how it is prepared. At first I didn’t know he learned it from his Laotian wife So after i realized that, then I told him that Laotian cook it different, and not like the Vietnamese way. He then tell me that I should stop insulting him, his wife, his wife’s family. That he will banned me. I said I’m sorry if I offended/insulted him in anyway, but I didn’t mean to. But I’m still going to say that’s it incorrect way.
So should I get banned because I told him it was wrong/incorrect way to cook it?
This is conversation via PM that he’s threaten to banned me.

Laugh if you want, it is apparent to me you didn’t read the post above your last one as I suggested, nor did you get the subtle hints I was trying to drop to you. It is also clear you don’t know much about others from that region of your homeland, or you would know that Tai Dam people are spread across Laos, Viet Nam and China. You just don’t seem to get it. So let me spell it out to you. Would you like it if i told you the way your grandmother and her mother made pho the wrong way? No, you’d be as insulted as I am now. When you say I am doing it wrong, youre saying my wifes grandmother (and all her kin) is doing it wrong, because the recipe hasn’t changed in their family for 4 generations.
Do you understand now? Either way, I would suggest you heed the warning. I realize this isn’t a personal attack, which is why I didn’t ban you immediately, but I am insulted none the less. Perhaps now you understand why.
Actually insulting a mod is a 1 year bannable offense. Again, you do not seem to get why I am insulted. I think perhaps this is a language/cultural disconnect going on here. I am starting to wonder if you’re even reading my posts or not. I’m plenty capable of taking criticism, and I don’t really appreciate you insinuating that I’m not internet savvy to realize I will get dissenting opinions when I post online. So, lets just say we drop it here. You’re digging yourself into a deeper and deeper hole.

With the introduction of forums and the internet, it gave these ppl some sense of power from behind the comfort of their computer scream, who in the real world, and regularly have no balls, confidence or power in real life.
To keep things free of bias and corruption I don’t feel a mod should be allowed to ban or delete in a thread they are involved or “insulted” in. It becomes a conflict of interest and removes their ability to “moderate” properly IMO.
I just let it goes. Not trying to embarrassed him or anything. Just want to be sure that I can’t get banned for something like that. But really, it’s kinda funny to get all work up for that
