apparently youve never driven around texas drivers to say that lol
down here, they share the same off ramp and on ramp in one lane… infact the other morning i had a nice delightful fellow cut me off while i was in the left lane… he had his right turn signal on
thats what the big trucks all about, but its getting too much for me to handle with the prices rising… dont think i havent thought bout getting another bike
To answer your question I’ve heard great things about the Acura TL. Decent power, comfy, nice options. Only down side is that its wrong wheel drive but if you’re ok with that then go for it. Not sure how they do on gas though maybe someone else can chime in on that.
So you’re driving about 1100 miles a month? (based on 12mpg @ 3.30/gal)
Is the truck paid for, or almost paid for?
Do you owe less than it’s worth?
Very rarely is getting rid of a vehicle just to save money in gas a wise financial decision. Most of the time people do it to justify buying a vehicle they don’t need to themselves. I should know, I was thinking about getting rid of my Expedition for something newer that would get better gas mileage, but when I ran the numbers on driving the nearly paid off Expedition for 2-3 more years (the time I expect it to go without major repairs) vs making payments on a new vehicle that gets 50% better gas mileage (12 vs 18 mpg) keeping the truck was a much better financial decision, even at $4/gal.
thats why my decision is easier to make… i actually avg about 10-12, and i drive mostly highway at that…
i owe 15 on the truck, worth is around 20, so im still good on that. theres also other things as well, lets say i decide to take a trip to the beach, which is 2-3 hours away(depending on which one i go to) well that right there is a good 150 dollar drive.
Sure, given that i spend ONLY that on gas just doing the 1100 miles would be ok, but its not cost effective for me if i want to go actually do anything
i love my truck and have really thought it through, basically im paying 340 bucks a month TO SPEND 300 in gas. for that same payment, i can easily drive something much more fuel efficient and a lil more practical. im not going to buy anything thats not out of my price range, i plan on getting something, after i trade in, thats close to what i owe now on my truck and make MAYBE 20 dollars more a month if it comes down to it, in payments…
for my situation its a far better financial decision i think.
the problem is, most people dont think like that, usually have negative equity tied up, and most of the time get something thats more than theyre paying currently… THEN its a bad decision
My g/f has an 07 TL with every option except S package ( she doesn’t like driving stick daily). I love the thing but if you are doing it for gas mileage i would recommend getting something with more than the TL. It gets about 20 city and around 23-24 on the highway. I’m not flabbergasted by the gas mileage because the trans am pulls down 19 city and 30 highway with a lot more fun factor. We have had zero reliability issues with the TL so far. Should also note that Ray Laks was very good to deal with when leasing the car.
so today i drove the TL, great car, but i hate the FF feel, ive always had and driven FR cars/trucks so it felt different
from there i tested a 325i sedan, and c230 kompressor sport and now have narrowed it down to those 3 for what i want to get now
325i
c230
TL
i like the c230 cause its the sports package edition, but i hear service for them is horrible and the car is shittly built. i havent worked on benzs since 03, so im outa the loop about them anymore
