i believe this is related to the new law where you are entitled to one free credit report per year.
doing it now.

You gotta pay 5 bux for your credit score though.

I tried Experian… they make you pay for your score… did you try a different one and was it the same case?
I just got mine done recently too, but thats good to know. free credit reports are cool.
The other day I noticed something on my credit card bill that I didnt recognize…apparently someone was using my card number for something online…im assuming porn. it was CCBILL.com which is just a billing middle man so to speak, so I dont know what site it was…apparently I have already paid for this month, but they wont give me:

2: user name
3: password
If I already paid for it I should at least be able to look at some porn for my troubles.[/left]

just ran mine, was waiting for this because cingular f’ed up when i canceled my account and sent my shit to a collections agency. I flipped out on them about screwing up my credit, got it cleaned up, so the report looks clean as clean can be. Lucky for them!

It’s a free credit report, not a free credit score.
You need to get all 3, because often times one agency will pick up something the others do not. I check mine every 6 months, although I get them for free every 6 months so :-p. Twice a year is a good interval.
You don’t really need to know your score, it’s more of a curiosity thing. It’s going to be different depending on the type of lender looking at it as well (mortgage, auto loan, etc). And all 3 agencies will have a different score.
if you get a providian visa you can get a free report anytime you want. its an ok credit card and they give me a 20,000 limit.

If you get a checking account with overdraft from ESL they give you a credit report and go over it with you…they dont have ESL’s in Buff though do they?
