ok i posted my picture on my car domain site… i jus use it to post pictures, like the rims on it i was tryin to sell but no takers lol im sellin them btw $250 with tires, they are 15"… back tires have 50-60% thread nd front only have about 30% thanks but here are my redded out lights…
since the picture ive also clear coated my lights lol
dabum - what did you use to reinstall the taillights? silicone?
^^^ that was me.
That looks good, what kind of paint did you use?
Good paint job on the rims too, looks very clean.
DRE
I used some Glass coating by crown… obviously red i dunt think there are more shades of red just one lol newayz its spray paint for glass that i got a rona… id suggest what most ppl use the candy apple red model paint but uhm you can use this… if so clean coat it after so it the red doesnlt fade… im guessin you know or read how to do it… only tips i have are onlee 1 OR 2 coats while its still wet, as u can see in tha picture wen i masked it, i left a part masked wit some clean plastic so i could match the reds, DO NOT do alot of coats it will come out REALLY bad, just 1 or 2.
I just tried this because I saw mike’s car with it done.
If you do it right it doesn’t reduce visibility at all, and there is nothing illegal about red turning signals on the rear of your car. It’s still better then those cars that flash a brake light instead of having a dedicated turning signal
My dad thought I was a complete idiot for trying this, but now he likes it a lot. All red goes better with my black car at least, the orange was a bit out of place (and they were the last orange lights left on my car anyway! clear turns (light up amber) and ML320 sides).
Anyways, I recommend after you lay down the very light coats that you take some plastic polish and rub em down nice and smooth. The light coats tend to make the finish very bumpy and by smoothing it out they will look much more like stock and be a lot brighter.
$105.00 dollar ticket and 2 points.
??? Where do you get that?
And I really don’t see how you could possibly get pulled over as they look completly stock.
my tails are all red and ive never got pulled over because of it or been talked to or warned by an officer because of it
I also really don’t see how it could be a moving violation?
According to the MTO (Ministry of Transportation | ontario.ca) You can get a 2 point demerit for ‘failure to signal.’ But you can signal just fine with these lights …
Well they arn’t blacked out are they?
Which is why I REALLY couldn’t see anyone being pulled over for it.
They look exactly the same as the lights above, and light up just as bright.
By PM request …
A quick shot of how it turns out:
The stuff used:
edit … in the first pic the passenger tail looks a little orange … must have been a weird angle + sunlight + flash? Normally they look identical to the brake lights … i’m too lazy to go take more pics.
Hey John (Toronto240sx) I don’t know what your friend did but as long as one of the brake lights are left unchanged (i.e. the third brake light) it is fine unless they are painted black instead of tinted. I’ve been checking into everything I do to the car cause I don’t want to get hit when I’m out. Almost put the same lenses you have on your car but I found out that that was illegal. I have tinted my lights and now i kinda regret it. Yeah it looks good and all but during the day the lights are a little hard to see, but at night they are just as bright. I used the Tamiya tint from the hobby shop here in Kingston.
This is with my lights and signals on. Their just as bright as stock and i painted the whole light so it didnt look like my lights were two diff shades of red…i also put 5-6 coats so they are dark at night if my lights are off…the lights will shine threw them no problem. i used stainglass tint from a craftstore. Michaels i think.
mine are all red and i like it
Obvously you like them! I liked em 1st, afterall they were my tails at one point in time but mine are hotter now with red out rice racerr taillights

i hate to burst your bubble, but if u dont want any attention towards your car, i wouldnt do this…
Highway Traffic Act 62.7 :
Attachment that affects lamps prohibited
(7) No person shall drive upon a highway a motor vehicle if either or both of the lamps that are required on the front of the vehicle by subsections (1), (2) and (3),
(a) are coated or covered with a coloured material; or
(b) have been modified by the attachment to the lamps or the motor vehicle of any device that reduces the effective area of the lenses or the intensity of the beam of the lamps. 2002, c. 18, Sched. P, s. 19 (1).
This means that you cant have anything that covers or affects your headlights (includes those wierd eyebrows that cover the whole headlight (Fast n furious the VW) or if u smoke out your headlight cover)
I found this at http://www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/DBLaws/Statutes/English/90h08_e.htm#BK106
when i got scrued over for having red angel eyes on my tiburon
Thanks for the law lesson professor jurisprudence.
The pics and discussion clearly show taillights to be the subject of modification.
OK its illegal i cant argue that…but unlikley you’ll get a ticket because they still function very well and the average driver/cop prob wouldnt notice the red tint unless they know their 240’s really well. Those guys with blue LED turn signals etc are what id be looking out for if i were a cop. Use the black tint and then your going to attract attention of the OPP.
