Tire problems

Well i brought my car to Midas(worst shop ever) just to get a new tie rod about a month ago…They replaced it and also replaced my tires with some re-treads because my other tires were fubar…I told them i would be back in a month or so because i would need to get my power steering replaced(its hicas model)…So i bring it there today and buddy calls me back and tells me he cant get the parts i need for power steering because its a hicas model and he needs to order directly from nissan but he cant because he doesn’t have an account set up with them? So i said whatever and that i would pick it up, but then he tells me that im going to need another new tie rod in the front passenger side as well as in the rear passenger side(dont see how that can happen when they mentioned nothing about that last time i took it in) and apparently the CV boot in the front passenger side is split so its leaking which is why my passenger side tire is running out of air??..I think he’s bs’ing only because he never mentioned ANY of these things last time i took it in…So im thinking of posting on here to get the parts needed for my power steering and just gonna buy some new tires and see how it goes?? Any opinions on what i should do?

is your car a 240 if so there is no c/v boot in the front. second that has nothing to do with tires going flat. and ya most likely half the shit he said is probably bullshit

What a load of sh*t! Jack up your car and pull off the tire. If you can’t find any visible punctures do the following.

Fill a bucket with a lot of soap and some water so you have a nice soapy (but not foamy) liquid mix. Lay the wheel flat on the ground and pour your mixture on the wheel where the tire meets the rim and on/around the valve stem. Let is sit for a minute and observe where the liquid starts to bubble up. Then you’ll know where its leaking.

If it bubbles around the outer rim then they did a lousy job of mounting the tire or didn’t clean it up first. If it bubbles up around the base of the valve stem then have them install a new one. If the end of the valve (where the cap goes) bubbles then the inner valve isn’t screwed in tightly. (It’s the little threaded metal bit) In which case you can screw it back in with a little 2 dollar tool.

Tell the boneheads at Midas that your not a stupid gullable woman and have them shove their CV boot up their asses.

LOL  thaaaaaank you! I knew they were just trying to get money out of me! It just made no sense to me at all, first off they didnt see these problems 4 weeks ago when i brought the car in and second off they couldnt order 350-400 dollars worth of parts because they cant order from nissan for some stupid reason so i was guessing he was going to try and figure out some other way to get that money out of me…Thanks for clearin it up guys
