Tire Question

Ordered some tires for my quad. Some how they got crazy deformed during shipping/boxing. With them being a radial tire what are the chances they will be OK once inflated? Only one front tire was OK. Some how the two back tires where stuffed in a box that is big enough to only fit one. I don’t even know how I will get them back in the box to return ship.

Where did you order them from?

Those should be fine.

The sinking you see on the sidewall is the rubber between the bands.
The “divot” on the thread is the band being “relaxed” and they probably started to pull inwards like a W.

I would mount them and inflate them…

Also, you can tell the shape at one point was perfect because all the nubs are there. I would assume these were stacked and the bottom of a pile and “cold formed” a little. I would keep them warm, just to make the pliable, have them mounted, then put them somewhere so they can slowly get their shape back…ie don’t mount them and keep them in the cold garage until spring.

If you plan on using them now that will also help to work the rubber back to shape…but keep your speed low until the round out.

I got them from denniskirk, they include a return label with every package so its not a issue. Im just worried they will be crazy out of balance. These are 6ply and those lugs are 7/8" deep, some really thick rubber to reform.

When I got my tires for my quad a few years back I ran into the same problem. I had them mounted and inflated and they worked themselves out pretty easily. Balance shouldn’t be a huge concern unless you plan on maintaining high speed for a long time. they shouldn’t be to far out of balance. If they do end up staying super deformed after inflation contact the company or send them back. good luck with figuring it out.

Also I agree with Lukes input on this. Mine were mounted in the summer so it was already warm out.

Speaking of mounting does swerve do atv tires?

^^why not do em yourself? pretty eash to pop em on and off, hardest part is just breaking the bead on the old ones.

Good point, never thought about it.

Only ATV tires that gave me trouble were oem tires. As long as they’ve been changed before, you’ll be fine. I have to put a switch in my machine or I’d say come over.

^ ill be doing a 665 bbk kit in a few weeks. More than welcome to stop out and laugh as I spend 20 mins trying to find a bolt that I dropped.
