My fiance has the chance to get a free set of studded snows, but they’re slightly larger than her OEM 2003 Protege ES tires.
OEM - 195/50-16
These snows - 205/55-16
Yes? No?

if they are free get them and try them. they might still fit it isn’t a huge difference.
The biggest thing is going to be a larger sidewall. So it may throw off your speedo a few mph. If you’re ok with that and the tires will clear go for it.
If you don’t take them, I would gladly take a free set of snows. mine are starting to get lower on tread. lol.
And those are a PERFECT size for my car.
for speedo calcs…

With the lower cornering stiffnes of the high sidewalls the car will feel more lathargic (it will require higher slip angles for lateral acceleration), however since you are applying it front and rear the understeer characteristics of the car will reamin the same.
Maybe run them at 32-33 psi to bring back a “sporty” feel.
