I KNEW IT. I knew there was no way it could be law that you have to alter your driving in your established lane to yield to someone trying to enter the highway.

But on a 3 lane highway, you should be in the middle lane anyway. The right lane is for mergers (on or off) and the left lane is for passing. So if you are just cruising in the right lane with no intentions of exiting soon (which most of you probably do), you should have to yield.

Most places I see with 3 lanes have enough traffic that all 3 lanes get used.

And regardless of what I “should” do, the law says it’s my lane so you can STFU

BTW, I always move left if there is room to allow someone to merge, but I’ll be damned if I’ll jam on my brakes to let someone merge if I can’t get over.
